<h1>I was getting tired of checking the Steem price manually</h1>
<p>I don't know about you, but I am checking the price of steem constantly throughout the day. In fact I do so before my first coffee - Steem price, brush teeth, Steem user count, make coffee, read new steem posts, drink coffee - That's pretty much how I start my day since I discovered Steem a few weeks back.</p>
<h2>A few weeks back I asked the community about a widget</h2>
<p>In <a href="https://steemit.com/steem/@sunking/i-want-to-build-an-android-widget-to-follow-the-steem-price">one of my first posts</a> a while ago I asked the steem community if there is anyone else interested in having a Steem Price widget for his Android Phone. It had no bikini picture, so the post disappeared pretty quickly into the black hole of forgotten posts. ;) - But before it went into the dark a whopping 16 people upvoted it. So, heck, I thought - Let's do this.</p>
<h2>Here is your Android Widget!</h2>
<p>Even though I have been developing software for 35+ years, I am still pretty new to mobile app development. Depending heavily on StackOverflow and Online Tutorials I managed to create a first version which is available here on github:</p>
