I confess I am surprised by the tenor of your reply, as well as pleased it is substantive. Much of your reply was counter-intuitive to the comment I replied to, IMHO, so I am somewhat taken aback. As to my vagueness, I just disagreed with everything you said in that comment, from '4 comments..' to memo spam being bad. I don't want anything but fatigue (well, add shame, common sense, and etc...) to limit the ability of people to post comments, because that's the lifesblood of social media. People won't come here to post 4 comments. They'll stay away in droves, and we've competition. I want them to come here. I completely agree as to RC delegation markets, and particularly that it should have predated the need for it, so folks could wrap their heads around it and make necessary arrangements before they were necessary. I already mentioned memo spam not being an annoyance to me, and they all pay me to spam my wallet, so it's all good to me =p. As to skin in the game, that's fine for capital purchases and business decisions, but not acculturation and social inclusion. We're born with skin in that game, and Steemit can capitalize on human nature to eclipse competitors - or could, before there were competitors, or if they wanted to (which I am becoming more convinced they don't, instead seeking to give over Steemit to some kind of commercial hosting platform). While you are right that money, beneficence, and contentment with little aren't mutually exclusive, fraud convinced me the opportunity cost was too high. I have nothing anyone wants to defraud me of now, and don't even have to lock my doors. Thanks!

@d-pend @nonameslefttouse if it were true that people were willing to buy steem to participate, why do we have a free signup system anyway, why doesn't everyone just pay for account? A free account should give you at least 30 decently sized comment a day **AND** 40 or 50 votes. This would still prevent spammers, as spammers would want to comment more than this and would need to buy steem to do so.
