IBM launched its blockchain based payment system known as Blockchain World Wire, which probably is the second legitimate solution (after ripple) that would involve block chain technology for international remittances, thus reducing the intermediaries in the processing, to be able to settle the payment in seconds. IBM has chosen the Stellar protocol for the World Wire.

This is definitely great achievement for the Block chain technology as well as the crypt platforms they are developed on block chain such as steemit, to show the real use case and power of block chain.

Just another example of something that is going to eventually affect the banking system.  They are no longer in control of transferring money around the world.  This will be in the hands of blockchain pretty soon.
