If i spend an hour or more on a post, i'm slapping my 50 cent up-vote on it and not feeling bad.   It's the self-voting of every comment that could lead to reward pool disaster.

Good to see more ethical big hitters making these points though.

Hey Dan, wondering if you could explain how reputation impacts voting power and rewards. In your video you talk about having higher rep with the new hardfork means a need for more responsible voting. I haven't personally seen anything where it says your rep influences your vote power. I've only seen that the amount of SteemPower you have will influence your vote. So now I'm confused, do both rep and SP influence voting power?

Im new so still learning about Steemit.
can i ask is it more beneficial when you upvote other peoples posts or when people upvotes yours? because when I check my steem power it seems to go down after i vote. I recently have been upvoting my posts on peoples pages just to bring it to the top and to get noticed my have told that's not good so i have stopped but I thought that would be helping for both of use to get paid.

Helpful video. How can you tell if someone flags you? I always get worried when i post something that I am not doing it right and therefor going to get flagged.

My view is that more important is that rewards stay on steem blockchain and they are not cashed out. But even in that case somebody else will buy it and bring steem back. If I upvote myself my steem power go up and when later on upvote somebody else his reward is bigger to. Or if I upvote just my friend. His upvote is worth more and he can reward other people more. So long term I think that this will not be a problem. Upvote you self doesn't look good but have little impact on whole steemit community. My thoughts anyway. But I could be wrong. I don't know.

This is a really good post and one that every new community member should see b/c it covers a very important topic.  Everyone has to find that mix that benefits the community and themselves they're comfortable with.

This will be important to preserve the great vibe of steemit-community. To me personally the big insight was, that at least one ideal is realized with decentralized networks: there is in fact enough for everyone.  It is not a mindset known in many other systems, definitely not in the old economy... That's why it takes a while to understand and adapt. It is something we have to get used to.

Everyone wants whales to see them but since hardfork19 it's going to be much harder since many will just upvote themselves and there's fewer votes too.
