Not sure if this is the right way to do this, but I think it would be nice to have a simple notification system. A small indicator or number that shows next to your logo in the top right when someone comments, or replies to one of your comments. Just a thought...

Agree. You can check your blog and see the number of votes and comments but if you don't remember what it was before it gets confusing. Rember steem is still in "beta". They are pushing mass adoption before adding improved features. Being patient will pay off.
