That's a sobering thought and not a happy one. I think I've been burying my head in the sand with regard to just how hard it is to accumulate SP nowadays.

When I joined people were saying you could reach 1000SP in 6 months but that hasn't been true for me and not for many, if any, others either. Unless they've bought their stake. And it's getting harder.

I think it might be time for a reassessment of what I want to do here.

It's just not feasible for lots of people to make megabucks. It would help if certain people were less greedy of course ;) If Steem went to $50 then it might seem different, but that could take a while.

Yeah. I get that @steevc. But I've always looked at it long term from the point of view of building SP and haven't really focused on the dollar amount. And SP is much harder to build than I realised, now I compare it to the build up in the past.
And just looking at the facts of how much work it's taken to get where I am in 6 months.

I was expecting to get to a point where I could sit back a bit and post less etc, as I see a lot of others who were here earlier doing.

I have no problem with earlier people being where they are but, as I say, I think I've been a bit deluded about the reality of the current situation and the time it would take to get to even 5K let alone 20K.

This past week has been a bit of a wake up call as to what is really possible rather than what I was coasting along thinking was possible. &#128522;
