Hi @crypto.piotr, The post is a week old and not my own, so finding the comment would actually be difficult and I would have to use steemd to properly link you up, so I'm going to elaborate on it here. In short it came down to sending unsolicited link through memos being considered spam on this platform. I've added the image that sparked the discussion to this comment. That it (the memos) serves for you as a solution to other problem, I now understand. However, we are now having a meaningful discussion because I can over to your post and posted a comment, not because of the memos. I just don't think memos are personal enough. They have the feel of an email newsletter, which works best with a) previous interaction/purchase and b) interest in the topic discussed. It is more of a push marketing tactic, which has severe limitations long term. The biggest issue with the memos is, you are sending the memos to people without prior consent, in online marketing terms, they didn't opt in. I do however understand your intent much better now, but still feel there should be better options. Especially on a platform that hosts so many great developers. I hope some of them read this and will address the situation further. @partiko is currently mobile only, but I did hear that there is a desktop version in the works (I don't have a timeline, sorry). To conclude, your case study is quite interesting. With you demonstrating that you get more traffic and engagement through memos than actual mentions, the Steem blockchain has to come up with a way to improve the notification system and interactive culture of the platform in general. Just out of curiosity, do you by any chance measure the conversion rate from memo sent to interaction (upvote/comment) on your post? Dear @jeanlucsr I had a chance to read your comment only a minutes ago. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Always appreciate. > I just don't think memos are personal enough. They have the feel of an email newsletter Totally agree with you. I realized that sending memos to people who do not know you is nothing but waste of resources. But at the same time those who recognize you already (because of your previous engagement) will most likely read your memo. So it's an amazing way of sending notification to those who we engage with. > I do however understand your intent much better now, but still feel there should be better options. I would love to find better option. So far I didn't manage to find anything better than that. It does expose huge limits on this platform. > the Steem blockchain has to come up with a way to improve the notification system and interactive culture of the platform in general. You nailed it! > Just out of curiosity, do you by any chance measure the conversion rate from memo sent to interaction (upvote/comment) on your post? In a way I'm doing it. Not the most professional results, but give me some rough estimations: I've send memos all together to over 10k different users. All active within past 1 month. My collegue prepared entire list based on posts using several hashtags like #blockchain #crypto etc. Response rate was quite low. Around 2-3% of people commented / followed me. So let's assume that I managed to "reach out" to 300 new users. Out of which most were related to blockchain tech. Was it worth it? 10k * 0.003 steem = 30 STEEM (which is my cost). Most people out there probably wont afford this method of advertising. Especially now since Partriki (apparently) is filtering memos and showing only those above 0.01 STEEM. So sending 10k memos would be very expensive. At the same time Im sending bulk memos also to smaller group people who I engage with on daily basis. And response rate is usually between 40-80% (depending on topic, it's level of difficulty and discusses issues). Hope you will find my answer valuable Yours Piotr

Very valuable! Thanks so much for sharing! So the bulk 10k results is about 300 conversions. Wondering what 30 steem would do if you promote your post through Steemit (you probably did that already 😅). 0.3% is low, but 40% is definitely worth it I guess. The only thing I kinda feel people object to concerning your method is the opt in/opt out option. It feels a bit weird. But maybe making the bulk memos into an opt in memo where people can decide if they want to (or not to) receive a future memo. I know, it's more work, but it might improve the quality of the lists. Dear @jeanlucsr I just realized that (somehow) I've missed your previous comment. Just wanted to thank you for being always so responsive and for such a late reply. Yours Piotr
