Steemit does not run well in Mac or iOS. Please give us the old UI back.

I am not sure if the team is aware, but the new feature to open up articles in a popup is not working well on my mac and iPhone/iPad.

Particularly the browser seems to be freezing and it is hard scroll thru the articles.

In German there is a beautiful word for this: "Verschlimmbesserung". It means someone tried to make something better by making it worse. 

That's exactly what the popup has done. It made the website unsresponsible and hard to scroll through articles and comment on them. It works on short articles fine, but if the article is longer and has pictures they cannot be read anymore.

I do all my reading on my iPad, iPhone and Safari on my Mac. My Mac is the top of the line version from about 2 years ago, so pretty much the top of the line still and it can't handle the steemit website.

Please give me my old UI back where the post simply opens in the browser. Simple is better.

It gets particularly slow when there are a ton of comments, since it seems to load the entire thread at once.

I've finally decided that Steemit and Chrome don't play pretty together.

I've actually had posting and submission problems on Chrome--no html options anymore, and pictures don't always show up, as well as other little glitches. But I prefer Chrome, so what's a girl to do?

Hey @knircky, I noticed this was related to Safari specifically. Google Chrome seems to perform a lot better on Mac for me. This isn't the first time I've seen performance issues with Safari. That being said, it is definitely important to test a new feature in all of the major browsers for compatibility.
