Our podcast post from today is behaving this same way. There are images embedded using both Markdown and HTML. The HTML ones are the only ones working in that post.

Yes it seems to relate to image file size as @ausbitbank and @d3nv3r have suggested.  If you can reduce your file size to below 31.75k they might work.
