Nothing more to be said about extinction than to ponder on the ideas that would make us the more evolved beings. Can we limit our footprint and reduce the impact we have on other species, since the way I see our future it would involve not impacting the environment as much as we do now. Secondly, some species might get extinct because of their own lack of adaptation to the environment, this is how evolution always worked and we must not prevent that from happening. Although this is hardly the problem with the species that went extinct in the last hundred of years. More exposure to this subject (and from an early age) might make us more aware of our actions. Perhaps the next generations could protect the environment more if we are providing sufficient education.

You're right. Changes in the environment play a significant role in determining the rate of extinction among the biodiversity contained within it. Sometimes trying to conserve creatures which are supposed to extinct is futile. The environment is no longer suitable for them to flourish but most of the time, this wasn't the case. Most of the extinction process nowadays were caused by humans. Imagine, if the background extinction rate for a species was 1000 years, but they are already threatened at the 100, this is simply not healthy for the ecosystem. Thank you for reading my article.

Hey, it's why you posted it :) It was pretty nice, actually! I am trying to reduce my carbon footprint and I recycle, I use only very efficient appliances, LED lighting, scheduled central heating and insulated my house the best way possible. While I know that the materials I have used in the process are maybe not 100% eco friendly, I am still thinking that the energy saved will make up for it. I have ordered a few solar cells to make a DIY panel, and if that is successful I will try to make more of them so I will have 25kWh every day. I just need time to solder them together. Maybe I will post about this in SteemSTEM someday. Keep it up! It's a good subject for me.
