I saw this video a couple of months ago. Actually before I joined Steemit. The video helped form much of my belief system about blockchain. I know what Andreas means about the sewer rat. This is something that programmers complained about institutional going ons in computer science programs.
Now, I am pro-higher education. I have a Masters in Aeronautical Science. But, I realize corporations invade campuses. So that sewer rat in his garage hacking communications to other recreational programmers has practical experience. This is unlike the corporation that tries to further an agenda guided by an out-dated mission statement.
<h4>Consider how airplanes changed the economy. </h4>
Now imagine a trucking company inheriting a bunch of airplanes and using the IFR model. Knowing this is an aviation term, the board of directors rapidly impliment IFR with their new planes.
Unfortunately, in response to an absurd route schedule that flies into the winds of Class A airspace , a pilot tells the board that:
"...yeah, so I guess IFR stands for 'I Follow Roads'".
Since this is how their trucks made deliveries, the board responds:
"Great. So we don't need that logistics software upgrade, and can use our good old truck schedule- just rename it 'flight plan'."
"<i>So what color is your parachute?</i>" the pilot responds.
Knowing this aviation analogy, the board quickly responds:
"IRA"
"mutual funds"
"blue chips"
"family money- just need to show up for work to look responsible"
"gold"
Pilot says, "yeah, those heavy metals can be a drag".
