And Money is king... What is Money dependent on? A stack of comfort zones. And so far humanity has never rejected any level of comfort once gained. Three logically possible states. The Status Quo. A move forward. A move back (the thing that never happened although at certain times it was felt as if so.)

Money is King, which makes the independence at a government level a little useless. I think eventually the move forward will strip a lot of power from the state level.
