>The Jerry Springerlization of the presidency with the exception that Jerry Springer actually showed some compassion and empathy?
Really dude?...Jerry Springer made his fortunes off of a lack of compassion and empathy. I had a friend addicted to that show. If I went over there when she was watching it I had to leave just not out of empathy for the show's participants being nationally televised and humiliated by taking advantage of the most illiterate among us but I couldn't understand how a educated person could watch such trash.
I don't think many other presidents would have given this incident the consideration of finding resolve like President Trump has. I am sure if the parents had wanted to meet with the person involved privately Trump could have arranged that but these parents expectations of finding that the woman would have been convicted and labeled a "killer" like the media and DP feels comfortable doing is actually just the opposite of what the outcome would be...even here in the U.S. if a foreigner made a similar mistake.
In an article I seen on Matthew Broderick who caused a death in Ireland there was a statement that similar instances here probably wouldn't be brought to trial unless there was recklessness involved....
>A New York City official who specializes in traffic offenses says that if a confused foreigner caused a similar accident in the United States, he most likely would not be charged with a crime. He would only be brought to trial if there was some indication that he had acted recklessly. <a href = "https://people.com/archive/matthew-broderick-leaves-behind-the-grieving-irish-town-that-charges-him-with-two-lost-lives-vol-28-no-13/">
In that incidence Broderick received a reduced charge down to reckless driving and a $175.00 fine.
In another article that highlighted similar incidences in Europe, involving the same air base the outcome was similar, either those coming off the air base were killed or those driving in the wrong lanes had their licenses revoked to drive there and given community service.

I know in my heart if that was my son who had died I am positive finding closure would be all the harder if the person who caused the accident fled and wouldn't face questioning of their actions but at least the president tried to find resolve to a situation that the outcome more than likely wouldn't have warranted the driver being charged with murder or being labeled a killer. The media is only making these grieving parents situation worse to serve an agenda...how awful is that to use someone's dead son to make the president look bad.
