📷 TreeTuesday: The Mighty Sequoia

<p>Sequoia National Park is a very interesting situation because these trees only exist in a very small area of California and nowhere else in the world. &nbsp;Giant sequoias are the world's largest single trees and largest living thing by volume. Some are suspected to be over 3,500 years old. </p>
<p>It is hard to even capture the entire trees in one picture and hard to describe how big they are. &nbsp;&nbsp;Here is a picture of me standing at the base of one. &nbsp;&nbsp;You aren't supposed to go up to them like this because they don't want people touching them or climbing around on the roots. &nbsp;I didn't climb around on it but I did walk up to it for a picture because I'm a thug like that! &nbsp;</p>

<p>The pictures were taking with a Kodak C533. I wish I would have had a better camera for these particular shots.</p>

Hahha,   Yeah Kodak didn't really think they would be knocked off their feet and got to the digital camera game way to late. :-(   

It is tough to be ahead of the game when they enjoyed dominance for so long.  I guess they are still out there trying to service though.

they can get to be 300 feet high.   It is pretty crazy.   Back in the 1800s they cut one down and took it all the way to New York and people didn't believe that it was real.   They though that it was some kind of hoax out of California.

That's amazing how giant those trees are. This past summer when I was down in South Carolina visiting my folks we stumbled upon this tree called angel oak, it's on a lot of their post cards and stuff down there. Not nearly as impressive in height or anything but was still pretty cool. I think they said over 400 years old.
