In 1989 long before I started collecting coins the Chinese Mint started minting a .999 silver bullion coin with each year another panda.
In fact they already started in 1983 with three years of proof Panda coins and one in 1987. (Either 0.900 silver or 0.925 silver in 1987). The proof series are also continued in various weights.
This is the other side of the coin always with the Year and the temple of heaven in Beijing
As I have the whole serie today I will show the first 5 to you. If you wanna start collecting the series that is no problem but be aware that some liek teh year 2000 and others can be expensive. Some are over 200 USD.
The coins are minted in Shanghai and Shenzhen and although there is no mintmark in some years the Shenzhen coins differed a little. Therefore you have variances like small date and alrge date or closed leave or frosted leaf. This is for the more experienced collectors....
So soon more in this serie !
You like 'm ? Some 50000 were made in he early years each year while now we have 600000 each year.
