I've used a huge combination of therapeutic tools as well. It's awesome to have such a big toolbox and the self-compassion to allow myself to use it whenever necessary. Definitely didn't used to be like that.
Yes, EMDR! Thank you. My current therapist has a referral for me when I'm ready. I haven't had any disturbances in a long time though so we'll have to wait and see. Sounds kind of like fun work in a way, though, now that healing past trauma doesn't frighten me anymore. (That doesn't mean it isn't daunting as hell, though.) Thank you for all the info. And I agree, ridiculously high prices for treatments make them inaccessible to such a majority who really need it. I appreciate sliding scales. I also appreciate costs that are "a bit out of budget" because it puts more emphasis on the value of the treatment and makes the patient want to get the most out of it. One of the first things I was taught in Reiki was to always charge at least something for the service, because that which is free eventually becomes taken for granted and stops working." |
