Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! First of all, I would like to give a shout out to @sidekickmatt. He draws daily and he makes comics strips on Hive. It is very interesting to follow. I have learned that he uses the software Clip Studio Paint. Sharing his timelapse videos, I was intrigued as he seen to be going at lightning speed and achieving great results. He actually recommended it to me and told me was way worth the price (which is $50, that is pretty cheap, let's be honest). He was totally right Of course, I've noticed other artists using it, But he's the one who really made me curious about it.
A long time ago, when only the Steem existed, I did try to make a short comic book, panels by panels as well. I always thought it was a great idea. Sadly doing it manually did not give the best result, which is a nice way to not say terrible. Especially when it came to the writing part...am I use to a computer or what! I mean, I had trouble sometimes reading myself and when you make a mistake, you are kind of stuck with it. Trying to cover it up just makes it worse (I have experimented this many times before).
Initially, I have downloaded the free trial on my Chromebook. It didn't go very well because the icons were kind of too small for me to identify. I was getting lost into the panels and whenever I tried to use high and functions like materials, a black screen of death appeared (Yes, with Android the screens are black and not blue in my case, Not like windows). A lack of memory requirement seems to be the issue. Still, I have seen enough to know they was packed with stuff hat seems really cool. Compare to the free software that I usually use, It has so many more options. A good thing that I did use Photoshop before and Corel Painter (and some 3d studio max and flash...a long time ago) or I think I would have been lost completely lost into my new software. I also watch a few videos on YouTube, and I was really amazed by the tips and some options such as colorize, panel making, materials and so on.
So today I did the step, buying the software with the pleasant surprise of knowing that I will get the version 2 for free that comes out in March. After work, supper and every chores were done, I sat down and started to have some fun. First thing I did what's the test out the different brushes, options such as clip on underneath layer, etc. In one word, I was exploring. I have to say that I am impressed and I have a feeling that I will be able to make some great stuff with it in time. After fooling around, I saw that it is getting late, so I decided to make a small little sketch as for my second drawing for Hive. I use a time-lapse video, it always was something that I wanted to use, almost jealous of seeing it in others people's posts. But now I can do it!
Here are some progress pics ( I forgot to take a pic of the sketch only, but the small video compensates)

Here is the small timelapse video of the drawing. Maybe I should of made it longer, but there is a first time for everything.

I hope you guys like it. Thanks for the view" |
