From day old Broiler chicken birds, the first thing to be introduced to these birds is tray feeders. This is most important because that's what it's advisable and what the birds are capable of using for the first first week after their arrival from the hatchery farm. This first first week is the most important foundational part of their lives. Talking about the tray feeders before they can be able to use the smallest of the iron feeders. There are sacrifices that one needs to make in terms of their feeding cost of production that's going to be wasted during this period.
##### Bigger feeders seem to come by to save extra cost of production.
As I was saying a lot of feeds are bring wasted during this short period of their transition. Some feed are wasted which the birds are vulnerable to waste. 150 birds feeds on a bag for the first first week but half of the feed are wasted because the tray feeders are open to be messed by the birds droppings.
Having said that, that's about N5,500 cost of feed wasted but when transition takes place with the introduction of the iron feeders where they only need to just feed from the iron feeders curbing the ability for the birds to drop their feces as they usually do with the tray feeders which eventually leads to wastage of feed,. So, the transition from tray Feeders to iron feeders always comes as extra
cost saver.
