Thank you, @caleblailmusik! So glad you shared some of your experience on this journey as well. 

The info about dialog tags is such a great lesson and another good reason to get involved in a writing community like The Writers Block (in addition to the fact that we have hilarious late night conversations); you may just not see the nervous tics and poor habits in your own writing. But others will. 

A bit of he-said-she-said is okay, but it very often runs rampant and can so easily be fixed once you see it and understand how it sucks the life out of your work to overdo it.
