That is the idea. Instead of sitting around wondering about what you are going to write, just begin. As you said, inspiration is everywhere. I continually save notes every time an interesting idea pops up. I'm never without anything to write about unless I am feeling lazy. :) I'm beginning to enjoy Steemit tremendously. For the first time on social media, I'm not worrying about followers and such. I think it's still a place where good content can flourish. Now I just need to find some time for more original content.

I really love it here too, and it's fun to see how it's evolving from the early stages. There is a ton of quality writing, and I often feel guilty that I can't keep up with all of my favorites.

I'm a little disappointed that it took me so long to get here. By and large, social media has become a waste of time. I'm spending very little time on the others channels now. It's also sad at how people are trying to abuse Steemit. It's great that you are rewarded for contributing, but that abuse is what kills everything. I wish I had more time to spend just browsing. After the nonsense with Amazon, I've been spending my days recording video. I keep waiting for the day I won't be as busy. :)

Take your time with it and do a little every day. I think you'll see results over time. Some of my posts don't earn much at all (most of them are around $1) but I never know which ones are going to attract a whale vote. Actually I seem to have the most success when I start leaving a comment on someone's post, realize I've got too much to say, and then turn it into a post of my own. I always make it a point to link back to the post that inspired me. This way I get to interact with the material I find most fascinating *and* write what I'm passionate about. I don't fully understand why, but "the system" seems to respond to it.
