I only had just two hours conversation when I started to develop feelings for Femi. I didn’t have a good and stable relationship and if I ever see one who pays so much attention to me and derives joy in talking to me, I’m definitely going to switch boyfriends because that’s all I’ve always wanted. 

*We’re actually going to travel all over the world. I’ve been to London and Canada and if you take me seriously, one day, we’ll go there together then, you’ll have the opportunity to meet my parents in America,* the words were so sweet and during the few days when I got talking to Femi, I had already imagined how sweet my life would become so good. 
I thought of myself traveling outside Nigeria without having to work or struggle hard for it. 

I don’t hide things from my sister but I didn’t want her to know about it yet because if she does, she’ll go straight to tell my parents and they will want me to bring my man home. 

*What kind of a man is this? Femi is absolutely different from every man I’ve met in my entire life,* I said to myself. 
We only met on Instagram and he’s been so good. If he can be good online, he’s surely going to be better when we meet in person, I kept hoping.

Days went by and my conversation with Femi kept getting serious and I was getting more attached. There was no need to wait for me to see him face to face before saying yes to his request, I thought and on the fifth day of consistent texts, I said yes to Femi. 
I didn’t care what he was going to look like. As long as he looks good on our video calls and the pictures I’ve seen, then I’m good to go. 

*Hello Fathia. What are you doing? I have a very hot gist for you,* I didn’t care what mood or what my sister was doing. Getting married to Femi is actually going to change our lives and all I planned to do was treat him well, make sure he’s attached to me and we can get to the next level. 

*I’m at work but you can go on,* I know Fathia very well. She leaves everything she’s doing to hear my gist but on this day, she remained neutral and felt like she wasn’t excited to hear my gist but I didn’t care. 

*I met a guy. His name is Femi Lagbaja and he’s the general manager of an insurance company in Ibadan. He has traveled to so many countries oh and if I marry him, our lives will change,* I said. My sister who wasn’t excited before jumped up. 

*Really? Ah, my sister has finally gotten a husband. Leave that your so called boyfriend and marry this one that will take us to America,* she said. I laughed so hard because I never knew she liked money this way. Well, every lady wants a man who has money even though she may be working hard to get hers. 

It has always been her dream to travel outside Nigeria and she’s never going to shun any little opportunity when it comes to traveling outside the country. 

*But did he tell you the name of the insurance company?* that’s where I got stuck. I didn’t think about it. I never knew that Fathia already noticed a smelly rat. 

Then, she asked me for his full name and went ahead to check his Facebook page. I didn’t know why she asked for his socials but that’s just to prove that I’m not chatting with an artificial intelligence. 

*No girl should ever date this man. He lied to me that he’s the manager of an insurance company and he duped me of all my money,* this was the screenshot on his Facebook timeline which Fathia sent to me.

I put my two hands on my head and started rolling on my bed. I had almost broken up with my boyfriend. How come I didn’t smell the rat? 
While I was in bed regretting my actions and meeting Femi, I got a text message from him. 

*Babe, I got stuck somewhere around here but my bank transfer isn’t going through. Can you kindly loan me twenty thousand Naira till my bank transfer starts going through?* how come it was immediately after Fathia revealed his secrets to me that he proved it? 

I didn’t say a word nor send a text message. I just blocked him on all mh socials and reconciled with my boyfriend.
