 When I look at all the tribes tokens that were created on Hive-Engine, there are many negative examples of tokens that lost most of their value. But not all tribe tokens were failures, one positive example in my opinion is Proof of Brain (POB). Contrary to many other tribe projects, the [Front-end of Proof of Brain](https://www.proofofbrain.io/) is still working pretty well. There are quite a lot of posts that use the #pob or the #proofofbrain tag. If either of these tags are used, a post will be visible on the front end and will also be elegible for POB rewards. > Don't use the following tags together with POB. You will get no POB rewards: actifit, steemhunt, appics, dlike, share2steem ## POB tokenomics What can be said about POB, is that it tried from the begining to copy BTC. The overall supply is limited to 21 mio tokens like BTC. So far 7.2 mio tokens were emitted. Around 50 POB tokens are distributed every 10 minutes until the first halving will take place in February 2025. After that date, only 25 POB tokens will be minted per 10 minutes. > Every 42'000'000 blocks, there will be a halving of the mint. If my calcuation is correct, this is a halving every 4 years. The project started in February 2021, so we will see the first halving in February 2025. What I like about this project, is that there are no miners or other mechanisms that would print fresh tokens. The whole distribution is through proof of brain! Like most other tokens, POB lost some value during the bear market but when compared with other projects, the losses are pretty acceptable I believe.  <i>source: https://beeswap.dcity.io/tokens/POB</i> The token is well distributed, there are only 4 accounts that own more than 2% of the supply. Among them, there is the issuing account @proofofbrainio.  <i>source: https://beeswap.dcity.io/tokens/POB</i> The market cap of POB is with today's prices at 29'965$ ## Interesting returns ### Curation rewards Author rewards for POB are 50% and I've tried to calculate the curation APR for the token. I got pretty different results from one account to another. With an account that has very little POB staked, I got an APR of 31.5%. With a well staked account, I got 58% APR. I can't really explain this difference. If you have an idea, please share it with me :-) ### Liquidity pool rewards I particularly like the fact that POB has 3 diesel pools. POB is paired with Swap.Hive, CENT or Swap.BTC. In this last pool, there is an attached reward pool that distributes POB and Swap.BTC. The APR for providing liquidity is 70% at the moment, in addition to the fees. Proof of brain is not the only hive-engine tribe that is doing rather well. I usually swap all my POB for CENT tokens and then pair it in the cent:centg pool. This was after the POB:Cent pool rewards stopped. It doesn't look like it will be renewed ever again.

If you hold it and it continues to drop, when does it become an unacceptable loss. !lol I do use the #pob tag on some of my blogs. And I have been monitoring the tribe for a few months.  I am actually disappointed with its performance. Why I disinvested and used the proceeds for another token that was moving in the opposite direction. Now I wait for a change in direction, at which time I can get back in. I am not totally out and I don't mine waiting for my chart to signal a re-entry point. Thank you for sharing

What we shouldn't forget is that basically all inflation based tokens will sooner or later lose value if there is no backing or there is no increased demand. When compared with other tribe tokens in the same situation that lost like 90% of their value, POB did ok I believe.

Well when I look at the impact of inflation and ROI from holding/using a particular product, ie a token is a product in a Web3 world, I focus on the value of said token on its merits. I don't look at something worse and think I have a pretty good product. The product and who or what defines the product value is most important. The other day, our Food coop membership offered a 25% reduction if we paid annually versus weekly fees. That is a good deal to me. If I didn't spend the money now I would not get the same return by waiting. So some tokens backers need to address the real issue and not just hope for the best or the next tide to raise all the tokens. By the time that happens these tokens will be worth even less in comparison to those that took corrective measures during the changing marketplace. I do !luv and respect the different view. Individual circumstance does matter.

Compared with others, POB didn't do bad at all... It looks like if you set up a good token emission and don't touch anything (minting additional tokens), you do better despite a lack of innovations... But, that can change with time... I like POB and I'm growing my bags by curating with my stake, and through LP in the pools...

SlothBuzz is the tribe for me, although I may be biased. I love the overview you've done, would be nice to see what APR Slothbuzz has at the moment...I noticed the Lolz.sloth account is currently above 140% APR on the slothbuzz curation [(LOLZ farming report post)](https://sloth.buzz/hive-133011/@lolzbot/lolzfarming-report-12-15-2023). Very low amount of tokens currently in circulation (around 11k) with a constant burn and only 6.9 minted daily. Seems slow and steady could really win the race!

I think that POB has one of the keys and it is reduced and certain emissions. But it lacks uses and generating income for the tokens in my modest opinion.
