Received a lot of comments in that post and realized I didn't really answer the question myself in it, just tried to explain the scenario which some still didn't really understand or chose to ignore. :P

My point was more the "Hive made it" and is now one of the say, top 20, currencies in crypto. My question was to ignore a few facts, like its ongoing inflation meaning you'll still earn curation rewards for what is it, 12 more years, until we hit 0.5% yearly inflation. To also ignore post rewards and I think it'd be safe to say to also ignore RC as by then there'll probably be RC markets so even if you had 0 HP, you could still rent RC for a little Hive to post and comment. 

I guess I formulated the question in the title wrong and should've rather asked, how much Hive Power are you willing to leave powered up on your account _forever_ and how much would you be okay with selling at a price of $10+. 

As someone who's been quite full-time Hive ever since I first stumbled upon it and also recklessly all eggs in one basket type (aside from some hive-engine tokens and some top coins), I still have quite some "irl" debt so to speak. Things I'd wanna get to get settled, such as moving somewhere I'd see myself living the rest of my days, in a house with a garden for all these pets I suddenly have adopted (thanks @hiddenblade :p) and maybe a nice car. Other than that I don't really value materialistic things outside of having a new PC every other year. 



Either way, I guess similar to how other currencies have performed over the years scaling up by 10x in price it would depend, if Hive suddenly were to hit 50 or 100 I may sell off more than I initially planned and did at $10. But I'd like to think I'd wanna keep at least 250k for the long-term. At 1 billion Hive coins in ~12 years that'd make it 0.025% of the total supply. 1 billion tokens would also mean 0.125 HP per person, maybe even 0.1 HP by 2036. Although at 0.5% yearly it would mean it would start being more tokens every year after the initial 20 years of Hive inflation.

Okay, a lot of math there, but I'd like to see more people that have been here with me since the beginning or joined since and will join since have some stake they'll keep forever to make sure "mainstream media" doesn't take all of it. My thinking with the post yesterday was that when the mainstream comes I'd like this place to be a lot more like Reddit in terms of posts and comments and being able to push the regular joe's onto trending for certain things they post without it just being the Jimmy Fallon's, etc, there constantly. 

It's not easy to think ahead with this ecosystem if it were to gain that kind of adoption, though, because for many years now we've had close to no want for the attention due to there never being too many active users. Sure we had some peaks but under unique rulesets of the blockchain, either quadratic voting algo or the bid bot era, but it'd be interesting seeing how attention were attempted to be gained and bought by then. 

I'd also like to think that for many they may never even choose to part with their HP at all because they could instead gain a lot more by holding it in terms of delegations and other attributes. I'd like to think @zingtoken has given HP, at least to those that have delegated to it, quite some value over the last 4-5 months, it's now first coming down a little in terms of APR while most have been able to unstake and sell of their zing 4 times over by now with a monthly unstaking period. Without getting too much into Zing now, I'm looking forward to there being more air/claim/drip/drops for HP holders and hopefully not as much just for the second layer token to continue to give value to HP, but in the end, as long as things are existing here, it always helps support the layer 1 token.
