Como parte de mi segunda interpretación en el <b>Concierto para el mundo</b>, dado en la ciudad de Cumaná los  días 20 y 21 de Noviembre del año 2019, me tocó una famosísima (y difícil) pieza de un valse popular de Perú: <b>La flor de la Canela</b>, de la gran cautantora y compositora:

(<b>María Isabel Granda Larco; Apurímac, 1920 - Miami, 1983</b>) Cantante y compositora peruana. Hija del administrador de la mina de Cotabambas Auraria, Chabuca Granda se trasladó a Lima junto a su familia cuando aún era una niña y allí cursó estudios en el colegio de los Sagrados Corazones de Jesús.

A los doce años descubrió su vocación musical; comenzó a cantar y fue escogida vicepresidenta de la Asociación de Canto de su colegio. En 1937 formó el dúo llamado Luz y Sombra junto a su amiga Pilar Chamaca Mújica. El dúo cantó en diversas emisoras como Radio Nacional o Radio Miraflores, en la que Chabuca animaba un programa para artistas aficionados.

En 1940 formó un trío con Martha y Charo Gibson; interpretaban canciones mexicanas, muy de moda en la época. Dos años más tarde contrajo matrimonio con el brasileño Enrique Demetrio Fuller Da Costa, del que se separó en 1952, lo que supuso un no pequeño escándalo en la sociedad de la época. Ese mismo año inició su carrera en solitario.

Autodidacta y de extraordinaria sensibilidad artística, Chabuca Granda compuso más de un centenar de canciones, basadas en el folclore y en la historia del país. Su fama internacional, que la llevaría a dar recitales por Europa, procede del vals La flor de la canela, al que siguieron otras exitosas melodías como Fina estampa y José Antonio, a las que supo imprimir un intenso lirismo y que han sido interpretadas en muchas ocasiones por célebres músicos de la talla de María Dolores Pradera y Julio Iglesias.

A lo largo de su carrera como compositora trabajó diversos ritmos como el tondero, el vals criollo y los ritmos negroides. Estos últimos se dejan ver en melodías como El surco o Me he de guardar. Escribió también un ciclo de canciones dedicadas a su compatriota el poeta guerrillero Javier Heraud, abatido a los veintiún años de edad.

Mi interpretación musical de esta canción se basa en la versión cantada por el famosísimo y grandioso cantante de música lírica (Ópera), <b>Juan Diego Flórez</b>, de nacionalidad <b>Peruana</b>, la cual estudié e interpreté con el corazón en la mano ya que fue una pieza muy difícil para mí, de la cual me enamoré y hasta el día de hoy sigo cantando todos los días que la recuerdo. Gracias al profesor de música <b>Daniel Centeno</b> quien fue que me la dio a conocer y asignó para el estudio y posteriormente interpretarla en el concierto ya mencionado. <b>La flor de la Canela</b> es una de las piezas más emblemáticas y metas superadas en mi vida de la cual me siento muy orgulloso de cantar.

As part of my second performance in the Concierto para el Mundo, given in the city of Cumaná on November 20 and 21, 2019, I played a very famous (and difficult) piece from a popular waltz in Peru: La flor de la Cinnamon, from the great songwriter and songwriter:

(María Isabel Granda Larco; Apurímac, 1920 - Miami, 1983) Peruvian singer and songwriter. Daughter of the administrator of the Cotabambas Auraria mine, Chabuca Granda moved to Lima with her family when she was still a child and there she studied at the School of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus.

At the age of twelve he discovered his musical vocation; she began to sing and was chosen vice-president of the Singing Association of her school. In 1937 he formed the duo called Luz y Sombra with his friend Pilar Chamaca Mújica. The duo sang on various stations such as Radio Nacional or Radio Miraflores, in which Chabuca animated a program for amateur artists.

In 1940 he formed a trio with Martha and Charo Gibson; They played Mexican songs, very fashionable at the time. Two years later she married the Brazilian Enrique Demetrio Fuller Da Costa, from whom she separated in 1952, which was a small scandal in the society of the time. That same year he began his solo career.

Self-taught and of extraordinary artistic sensibility, Chabuca Granda composed more than a hundred songs, based on folklore and the country's history. Her international fame, which would lead her to give recitals in Europe, comes from the waltz The Flower of Cinnamon, which was followed by other successful melodies such as Fine Print and José Antonio, which knew how to print an intense lyricism and which have been interpreted in many occasions by famous musicians of the stature of María Dolores Pradera and Julio Iglesias.

Throughout her career as a composer, she worked on various rhythms such as the tondero, the Creole waltz and the negroid rhythms. The latter can be seen in melodies such as El furrow or I have to keep. He also wrote a series of songs dedicated to his compatriot, the guerrilla poet Javier Heraud, who was killed at the age of twenty-one.

My musical interpretation of this song is based on the version sung by the very famous and great lyrical music singer (Opera), Juan Diego Flórez, of Peruvian nationality, which I studied and performed with my heart in my hand since it was a very difficult for me, which I fell in love with and to this day I continue singing every day I remember it. Thanks to the music teacher Daniel Centeno who was the one who made it known to me and assigned me to study and later perform it in the aforementioned concert. The flower of Cinnamon is one of the most emblematic pieces and goals achieved in my life of which I am very proud to sing.
