The room was brightly lit, but not bright enough to actually be cheerful. There was a man sitting at the desk waiting. 'It is time', he thought, as he looked at his watch. He turned the desk lamp on and placed his glasses on the desk. turned and looked at the screen.



The screen told him he was busy. He really wanted to try out that new hacking code he got from the internet. He studied it for a couple minutes. Then he was about to get up and check the internet again. He stepped towards his computer and the crackling got louder. 'HACKED', the screen said

'What the..? I just got that code!' But...he heard footsteps!

"Hey come back here!" he shouted and grabbed his laptop. Soon he began to turn the doorknob. He eventually opened the door but there was nothing there. He ran back to his computer. He checked his computer and found nothing wrong.



"It must be a glitch." he sighed relieved "I'll figure it out later." He turned around. "Right now it's time for a new appearance." He got to work on his appearance.



He looked in the mirror. He changed his eyes to red and his hair black. He looked at himself and said, "Perfect." He walked out the door, went to the cafe and went to a table. "Take my order." he ordered a coffee.



The waitress came with his coffee. He looked at her. "The usual," he said and the waitress nodded politely and walked off. He looked at his computer screen.



"Not sure what the problem is," he muttered "I just got a new code hack...and now this..."



The door opened. "Oh, it's you," he sighed "What is it?"

"Where your friend with the same problem?

"Look I have no clue what's going on.."

"Your friend's laptop is just fine but your computer...."

"The same."

"Maybe.."

"Who knows! I'll just take a look at the website.."

"I got another...

"Fine."

"back to you."



A week passed and so did the strange things. The computer screen glowed and flickered. 'Must be a glitch' he said. He was at his school computer lab. The screen was flashing. He left the lab and walked.



"I'll figure this out for sure." he said. "I should..." He accidentally bumped into someone who was walking the opposite way.

"Oh sorry," she said and dusted herself off, she then smiled and continued walking. He smiled too and followed her. "I know I heard a noise and...and...and.." he had no clue what he was talking about.

"You seem a bit distracted? " asked the girl.

"It's a good thing." nodded the man

"I'm glad you feel that way."

"Why?" he asked confused

"Because...then maybe you'll be able to figure out my problem."

"You have a problem?"

"I have a self-inflicted giant...bug...destroying my life."



"It's so simple." retorted the man "I'll just reset your computer. Sorry?"

"No problem. I really messed it up."

"And you should really listen to music."

"I tend to listen to droning music when I'm not doing anything." she said and then smiled.



"We are..," he said looking at her "..waiting for our next class..." they sat.

"Oh hello, Xochitl," said the man

"Hello, Josiah," Xochitl responded.

"Are there any resources in reference to the colony on Mars"

"What?"

"Like an uber or.."

"Uber? At least I know what an uber is." she said.

"Excuse my ignorance." said the man and the girl sighed.



As the day went by, the man and the girl talked more. They eventually left school and walked.



"Have you ever been to Mars?"

"Nope. Have you?"

"I might as well forget about it."

"Why?" asked Josiah.

"It's such a problem."

"Don't even bother about it."

"It's too much for me to handle."

"Then why did you come to Earth?"

"I...I could never live there."

"What?"

"Nobody has heard of me out there. And I want to be heard." she said.

"You want to be the most wanted criminal?"

"Yes...but that still doesn't help me."

"Then why not create your homeland on Mars."

"Because.."

"...."

"...."

"...."

"Would you like to have another cup of coffee?"

"Sure."



A week has passed, the man never had enough of his new found love and the girl regularly visited him. "Maybe..she is my soulmate." he thought.



Crash!

"Wha...? er...what the?"

"Who's the big meanie now?

"Oh that's..that's my brother."



"Hello." said Josiah.

"Hi. Josiah."

"You look different."

"Oh, I do?"

"Yeah."

"What?"

"Your hair is more crazy than normal."

"Oh you think so?" she said.

"Lot."

"Well, I promised to fix the reputation I had while on Earth. Let's see if I can do that."

"Sure. But why are you looking like a maitre d'?" he said then took out a plastic card. He pointed to the menu and the girl had an idea of what the card was.
