<html> <p> <br/> <br/></p> <p>This is the culmination of my experience as a student. For many students, regardless of culture, students have been trained to study and study only. This is not exactly wrong by any means, but it is an issue when that becomes akin to a limiter, an aspect of programming that forces one to have a limited view of the world.</p> <h2>My Experience</h2> <p>I was programmed to do well in school and get good grades at uni just to secure a good job. I am thankful to have done adequately, not excellently, but enough to follow the path set forth by society and conventions. It was all going as planned until I had to pay for my wedding. </p> <p><img src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/v9myM74sarRdxXrvAc2RdW-320-80.jpg"/></p> <p><a href="https://www.techradar.com/news/payments-is-a-journey-not-a-destination">Image source</a></p> <p>Who would have thought? Those darn things aren't cheap! But no problem, I have a job, I can pay for it. I was unfortunately wrong about that too. That led me to take on other side hustles to pay for it. Then came other commitments like buying a house and paying for childcare. It was somewhere along with the onslaught of commitments that I start asking myself, what am I missing?</p> <p>This led me to read up and find out on how to make money work for me instead of just following the conventional way of dealing with money. This has also led me to mining and Steemit. </p> <h2><strong>The Point</strong></h2> <p>If I knew what I know now when I was still studying at university, I would have done more than just study. I would have taken the time to work at different industries or started investing way earlier. So would that mean that I will have less time studying? But do take a moment to take stock of the time spent. You will notice that if you take away the time that you spend for classes, the time you chill and sleep, you will have that wee bit of time that can be spent to equip yourself with tools that would be beneficial for your future. </p> <p>Sure, Apex legends or Netflix would be so much more exciting and fun. But do be aware that preparing for your future now would make things a whole lot easier in the future. But even if it does not, a bit of extra knowledge would come in handy sometime in the future.</p> <p>I hope this helps in this time of uncertainty.
