Once upon a time, there was an animal named “Squirrel”. He lived near a farm but he could not get enough food to eat because he had no money. He thought that there must be a way to get some of the food for himself.

At last he figured out what to do. When everyone had gone to the farm, Squirrel climbed a certain coconut tree of about a hundred metres from the open farm. Clumsily he wedged himself into a hole near the foot of the tree; safe inside, he began to sing.

Now, Squirrel was a wise and deceptive creature with special magic powers. As soon as the coconut tree heard the song, it picked up its roots and began to dangle down the forest path to the open farm.
Imagine the surprise of the farmers who were harvesting different crops and fruits, when they saw a coconut tree moving towards them. At first they were astonished: ***“what is this?*** ***A moving coconut tree? This has never happened before!”*** they waited curiously to see what would happen. But as the coconut tree came closer, one woman exclaimed, ***“This is something strange. I’m getting out of here!”*** and began to run out of the farm.

Then everybody began to run here and there – children looking for their mothers and vice versa, husbands looking for their wives.

In a very short time, the open farm was empty. But in their haste the people had left behind their harvested crops, yams, cassava, and all kinds of good things. When the open farm was completely quiet, Squirrel ordered the coconut tree to stop moving. Then he crawled out very slowly and went around the farm gathering up the things he liked and storing them in the coconut tree. When he was quite satisfied with  all what he had collected, he returned back into the hole near the front of the coconut tree and commanded the coconut tree to move back to its place in the forest.
Squirrel waited until dark and then crawled home with his proceeds.
