***This is my application for the contest [Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest-Round 364](https://ecency.com/hive-179017/@melinda010100/shadow-hunters-smash-contest-round-85b032ae06dbf) by @melinda010100***

Very often there is a situation where at the time of photographing I plan to post a post in a particular community, but in the end, I reconsider my idea and decide to post my photos in another community.
As an example, I want to consider today's photos with a tit in my hand.
Oh, by the way, there is a proverb in Russia: "A tit in the hand is better than a crane in the sky", but in this case, the situation does not apply to this saying at all. The tit was in my hands for another reason.
But I'll start from the beginning.

So. Back in December of the 21st year, I noticed that sometimes birds fly very quickly from a tree in different directions, on which I hung a feeder for them. At the same time, some birds are heading towards my window and banging against the glass. If the impact is strong, the bird may fall into the snow.
Why do the birds fly away? Out of fear. What are they afraid of? This is most often due to the appearance of a hawk near a tree. He appears like lightning from the side of the forest and makes attacks on small birds.
At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but in December of the 21st year, I witnessed a hawk catch a titmouse in its claws and take it into the forest. On this day, I took a picture of this hawk. After he grabbed the chickadee, he sat down in the snow under a tree. Why did he do that? I don't know. He was sitting and looking in my direction. Then he flew away. The hawk has never done such a rest under a tree again.
I understand perfectly well that Mother Nature has created this order of things: a predator feeds on living creatures.
<br>

Today I was sitting at my laptop by the window and heard a bang. I looked out the window and saw a titmouse's tail sticking out of the snow. A titmouse in such a situation will not be able to get out on its own. I went into the yard to help the bird. At first, she was unhappy and swore at me, but then she quickly calmed down.
This was the third chickadee I've rescued from a similar situation this winter. I usually take the bird inside so that it warms up and recovers after such a knockout. But today the temperature was above zero outside and I did not take the bird into the house.
I took some photos. I realized that there was a shadow in 2 frames because at that time the Sun came out from behind the clouds.
Initially, I was going to post a tit in the [Feathered Friends] community (https://recency.com/created/hive-106444 ), but the shadow that appeared changed my intentions.

The titmouse held onto my finger tightly with its claws and was not going to fly away.

I couldn't stand with the bird in my hands because I went out into the yard in shorts and I was uncomfortable.
I put the chickadee in the feeder and went into the house. I watched her for 20 minutes and even started to worry that she didn't come to her senses. But still, the bird felt healthy, flapped its wings, and flew away.

But I couldn't save one bird in a similar situation this winter. It was a bullfinch. Apparently, he hit the glass very hard. When I picked him up, I found blood on his beak. After about 5 minutes, he stopped breathing. Selavi.

The saying here is 'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' comes
 to mind. Awesome shadow photo of this delightful little tit.
