So Today's post will be a bit different from my usual posts. If you have been following some of my posts, you would have heard of the **Hive Blockchain game Exode** - a space colonization game. If you dont know already, you can open you starter packs already and contract pack opening will be occurring quite soon. 

*The Discord channel is also relatively active at the moment - hence I have decide to start a 'madeup' creative story using the starter cards as the characters of the story. Please note that none of this is related directly to the story of the game Exode. The Story will make use of terms from the game itself. It is mainly for entertainment purposes.* All of this is just made up. The names are also made up and do not refer to a specific person, purely for entertainment.

# The Story of Kumison - Chapter 1: 
**What is my QL? and what the hyperdrive is QL anyway?**

The exoalarm clock went off... I opened my eyes, realising that today is a very important day. 
I wanted to go back to sleep, probably because I was very nervous about today and did not really sleep properly throughout the night.

However exonervous I was, I forced myself to get up as I can not afford to be late, especially today.

I walked to the toilet and stared into the mirror. I saw myself.
My Name is **Kumison**, an inhabitant of the planet **Exoplanet**.

> With technology enhancement, **Exoplanet** became the first planet that humans were able to land on and create a civilization. Humans have since then been able to colonize other planets in the universe.

> Initially, after the colonization of each planet, it was a considered a triumph for mankind and everyone was welcomed to travel across all the planets. With the resources on each newly discovered planet, the technology of mankind increased exponentially. We worked together to fight off aliens and protect our people. However, hyperspeed forward, mankind got greedy and factions started to form within planets and eventually battles broke out. Mankind fought over territory, fuel, and cargo within planets and territory of other planets. It was a ***super hyperdrive disaster***.

> Eventually, each planet had their own leaders. Some planets co-operated with each other fighting not only against aliens but other mankind. The leader of **Exoplanet** then created the **QL system**, where each citizen will obtain a QL based on their abilities. ***QL is Quality Level***. Citizens with higher QL had better privileges and a higher status and vice versa.

Anyways, here I am on **Exoplanet**, living in a normal household. I am the supposedly the only child. We live in the rural area of Exoplanet as the QL status of my parents were not very high.

"Kumison! Kumison!... you are going to be late for your first day! What the hyperdrive are you doing?"

That is my mother, I responded "I am awake...I will hyperspeed there now!..."
I brushed my teeth, washed my face, changed into my clothes and I went downstairs.
There I saw a familiar figure sitting on the sofa reading the exonewspaper, and my mother is cooking breakfast.

The person sitting on the sofa is my dad.

> My dad was a **Signals Specialist (Crew)** **- QL: 3**, His skills include **Radar (SRT)** and **Cybernetics**, whatever the hyperdrive is Radar (SRT) and Cybernetics. I just know that he works at the local Exoplanet space station where he assist with Signals when ships enter and exit the station.

> My mother is a **Xeno Analyst - QL: 3**, think she is a specialist, her skill is **science** and reports on planets. I think she knows a little about planets.

I greet them "Dad, Mom, Exogood morning." 
They nodded and said "Exogood morning Kumison, are you ready for the important day!"

> **The QL system works in the following hyperspeed way**. *(QL Score: Class)*
	QL 1: Space Buffoon. (What the Hyperdrive is that!)
	QL 2-3 : commoners.
	QL 3-5 : rare.
	QL 6-7 : epic
	QL 8 : epic with hyper ability
	QL 9-10 : legendaries

So why is today so important? Basically at the first day in highschool, each student is assessed by the highschool and assigned a QL.
 If you are assessed to be:
QL 1, there is a very low chance that you would be able to achieve success in life. 
QL 2-3, you also have a low chance of success, and if you work hyperdrive hard you may break through to the **rare class**
QL 4-5, This is quite rare, and generally found in nobles, they have a decent chance of reaching epic class one day with hard work and that comes with a lot of status and privileges
QL 6-7, almost unheard of, you could probably count with the fingers on your hand as to the number of students who reached this state in the entire Exoplanet, they would have a high change of reaching QL 8 in their lifetime

To put all this into perspective, the current leader of Exoplanet is a QL 8, and when he was a student he was assessed to have a QL of 6 (considered a Hyper exogenius in his generation).

My parents on the other hand were assessed to be QL 2 on their first day in High school, they worked hard their entire life and still was only able to reach QL 3 (commoner class). To this day, they were only able put food on the table and live a very modest life.
That is why they have saved desperately and tried to give me the best education they could so that I can be assessed with a QL of greater than 2 on my first day of High school, which would then make it possible for me to reach the **rare class** one day.

Each year the **Elite Exohighschool** (A high school famous for developing students who have a high chance of becoming an epic class one day) would choose 10 students from households with QL of 3 or lower parents. I was very lucky to be chosen as one of the 10. The fees were also all paid for, otherwise there was no ***hyperdrive Brain-wired*** way that my parents would be able to afford the school fees.

I started eating my breakfast, and my Mother and Father looked at each other with some sort of Signal (maybe because my Father was a Signals Specialist so he could send Signals with an expression). Then they took out something...

I was super hyperdrive shocked ... "No way in Hyperdrive!.. is that a..is that a ... **BOOSTER!**" I said stuttering with hyperspeed and in exoshock.

My Mother said "*Yes, Son there was a promotion going on and today is the last day, where if you buy 40 BOOSTERS, you get an extra card. Here is the promotion link, let me send it to your hyperdrive phone https://peakd.com/hive/@elindos/exode-card-opening-and-a-new-booster-promotion-for-one-week*"

I was amazed, these promotions dont happen often and only happens when a new High school year is about to start. Each BOOSTER will be very useful in a student's advancement in QL.

My Dad then went on "However, Sorry Son, we could only afford 1 BOOSTER, that was most of our savings. We actually were not able to afford 1 initially, we bought a discounted BOOSTER from @jacobpeacock. We are sorry that we could not help you more.." tears start to appear on their eyes.

I understood that my parents worked very hard, so I hugged them and said "Don't worry Mom and Dad, this is all I need, I will do my best and make you proud!" I placed the booster in my hyperdrive bag and I opened the door. "Dad, Mom, I am going then"

I have been receiving education on becoming a pilot since I was small, although my memory was a bit hyperhazy, I think I wanted to become a pilot so that I could explore other planets or something like that. I have worked super hyper hard, those brain-wired nights where I had to guard against outer distraction, so that I could get an initial QL assessment of more than 2. I know I had it in me, *or I hope so*... I wanted to create a universe where there is peace between the planets, so in order to do that I had to become more than a rare class, maybe a epic class, and although extremely unlikely...an **LEGENDARY CLASS**
