A Tour Of My Plot.
Hiya guys.

There is so much I want to share with you and so much time has passed since my last post I just don't know where to begin.

With Covid-19 holding so many of us prisoners in our homes my plot has been my salvation.

Nearly every day we have spent time down the plot, either digging weeding sowing and tidying.

It has gone from being a plot with no life to a plot that is teeming with green.

I had 16 pallets delivered yesterday which I am currently taking apart to make more raised beds.

I bought myself a small walk-in greenhouse, this is just to use until I can get my glass one across.

I've also laid paving stones for my glass greenhouse to go on to, this wasn't easy as the ground hasn't been worked in a long time.

![20200610_160522.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmZ8BFubNTjBZVHi91xbkrDh1jmXRpbugGP97Reyh3qiF9/20200610_160522.jpg)

One thing I did need to do that I finally got around to doing in the last week was to make a gate, this is to stop my little lad from walking off.

![20200610_160534.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmTHi1fSCh4WYMyhtRnfgCAeGRMMGZVDAQkG2CYaitxdGC/20200610_160534.jpg)

Something was eating my corn, which was really doing my head in, so I ended up make a netted frame. it was made from some pallet wood and some netting.

![20200610_160450.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYuYDBTn8ZvNbPZvoaepAiosJKSoLm8S7kcu1Y3HH3NMP/20200610_160450.jpg)

The frame as done its job as my second batch haven't been touched since putting it up.

I have had a problem with something eating the roots of my veggies, After talking it through with the old-timer gardeners they have told me that we have moles or something that eat at them. I was a little gutted when I found my cucumber half dead.

Now the biggest job I have done so far was today's adventures, I have been given a commercial hoop house that needs a good space.

The problem I have is space as the plot isn't massive, we have a bit of land on the back of our plot called no mans land.

This land has a natural spring running under it that meets the river at the end of the plot.

Because of the natural spring, the ground is boggy, which means that it is unworkable, I have taken this challenge and decided that I would try to make it a space for my hoop house to go on.

I don't know if you can see but I have added a plastic mess fence, this was gifted to me from another plot holder who was going to send it to landfill.

I have taken out the trees, this I didn't really want to do but I decided to go ahead with it and make the space, as the number of plants would make up for the loss of these couple of trees.

I have also tilled the ground to remove the unwanted weeds and aerate the soil, I know the weeds will come back but with the help of mulch and raised beds it should be less of a problem.

Like always I have also taken a photo to show the progress of the plot from the top looking down.

So much has changed over the short amount of time we have had this plot for, it has been great fun.

Until next time. stay safe
