Before Ailithy breathed her last in the darkness, she needed her lover's light, the light he did not want to show and the light that would guide her.

Ailithy, who was once sure that the tar-black coal in her heart would turn into diamonds, could no longer bear it. Ever since the dreams she had built with Caspian were ripped from her hands by Caspian's betrayal, she was no longer sure of her coal. She was not sure since she lost her dreams in a social media post.

Ailithy was full of hate for a while. She tried to stay away from social media. She failed. Then she wrote songs. It didn't reach him. She wrote poems. Again it failed to reach him. She kept writing for a while to relieve her pain. There were no more nails to break and this time her fingers that touched the keyboard were covered in blood. Mechanical keys really broke her fingers this time.

While time marched on for others, for Ailithy it was tied to the end of the carpet hanging on her wall. Venus grew her hair long. Ailithy's sleep became entangled in Venus' hair.

More time has passed by, but Ailithy's anger remained. The words she could not say were lost on her keyboard before they reached her tongue. She had to take her hands and more importantly her words away from her lover, from whom she once could not take her eyes away. She waited for the sun to shine after rainy days. Maybe this was the biggest mistake.

More time passed by, and Ailithy made a decision. She would be her own beacon. She would not wait for someone else to come and illuminate her life. If necessary, she would cut the wood from her trees and even set fire to her forest. And she did. While the forest was burning, her keyboard no longer broke her fingers. Again, over time, it did not break her nails, her nails grew longer.

She painted her lover's nails the colour she wanted to paint them. Black.

Ailithy's dreams, dangling on the tips of Venus' copper hair, became her companions. When her nails were long, she removed the scabs of her wounds that had already healed. They didn't hurt her either. She wanted to be angry with herself, but she couldn't. "So it wasn't the time," she said to herself. She even shouted at herself.

No more time passed by, and someone came along. Someone came up to her when she couldn't tolerate people anymore. They talked for a while. They chatted. The distance was actually not far. He was at the end of a phone. Hearing his voice was as easy as playing a game on the phone she never dropped her hand.

Hours of conversations turned into video calls. They went on for hours, too. They just went on and on and on. Ailithy surprised herself. Surprised that she wanted to give someone a chance. While she was trying to repair her heart herself, she was surprised when she knew that a kick to her brick walls would destroy her life. She didn't want to do anything.

His name was Leo. And she loved it. It stuck in her mouth.

She liked the fact that he was the only person who could get the talkative Ailithy to shut up. She liked the way he treated her first. His knowledge, his interests, his fondness for art endeared Leo to Ailithy. Then she realised that she couldn't go a day without hearing his voice.

The calls went on and on. Leo sacrificed his precious sleep to hear Ailithy's voice. But Ailithy wasn't even talking. "Hmm, is that so? I see..." but she rarely said anything else.

Then Leo couldn't stand it. Like Prince Charming, he jumped in his car and drove across the continent. He drove over the roads. He didn't appear out of nowhere, but he was nervous. When he got out of his car;

"Am I going to meet my goddess now?" he asked himself aloud.

Ailithy, the early bird, was already waiting in the place they had agreed on when suddenly she heard the sound of the chair in front of her being pulled away. The sound of Leo's apologetic voice no longer coming through the phone had left her stiff.

Ailithy was already asking herself how much more she could be impressed every time they spoke, but the fact that Leo was in front of her impressed Ailithy even more. They talked, they didn't shut up again. Just like on the phone. They got hungry and ate. They talked some more.

Time passed by again. Leo crossed continents again and again, every chance he got.

One day, crossing continents again, Leo froze when he saw Ailithy in her off-white dress. He daydreamed. Leo, who had come to be beacon to Ailithy's darkness, who had come to turn her heart of coal into a diamond, had suddenly found his own beacon.

Then he bent down on one knee and took off his ring. Ailithy wanted Leo to get up, but Leo wouldn't. Ailithy knelt down.

"You are not above me, nor I above you. That's why we're together whether we're up or down. From now on, you can't escape me. I won't let you go."

"I won't let you go."

Erkenci kuş Ailithy zaten anlaştıkları yerde beklerken bir anda karşısındaki sandalye çekilince sesi kulaklarını tırmaladı. Leo'nun özründen duyduğu sesinin artık telefondan gelmeyişi kaskatı bırakmıştı onu.

Bir gün yine kıtaları aşıp gelen Leo karşısında kırık beyaz elbisesiyle Ailithy'yi görünce donup kaldı. Hayaller kurdu. Leo, Ailithy'nin karanlığına ışık olmaya gelmişken, kömürden kalbini elmasa döndürmeye gelmişken bir anda kendi fenerini buluvermişti.

Sonra eğildi tek dizinin üzerine, çıkardı yüzüğünü. Ailithy, Leo'nun kalkmasını istedi ayağa ama Leo kalkmadı. Ailithy diz çöktü bunun üzerine.

"Ne sen benden üstünsün, ne de ben senden. Bu yüzden yukarıdaysak da beraberiz, aşağıdaysak da. Bundan sonra benden kaçışın yok. Bırakmam."
