"Mom, can I have a bicycle this Christmas... Sonia's dad is getting her one too", Tanya asked her mom. "Tanya, you know we cannot afford a bicycle right now, don't worry very soon okay dear", she assured her. "But mom...", she started saying "Tanya go play", her mom interrupted. 

But Tanya wasn't going to listen, she already told Sonia she is getting a bicycle too and if she doesn't...

"I would just talk to dad instead", she thought to herself as she went to meet her dad. "Dad, please can I get a bicycle for Christmas...my friends are getting one", she said with a pitiful face.


"Sweetheart, daddy will get you a bicycle but now, I have things to take care of for now. Should I get you that Barbie doll you always wanted instead?", he asked. "No, I want a bicycle...why won't you and mom get me a bicycle", Tanya cried out and ran to her room.


"Why can't they just give me what I want, my friends are getting one...why can't I?? I hate you mom...I hate you dad, I wish they could just disappear" she said as she cried herself to sleep.


Waking up hours later it was already dark and the light was off too, "huh, it is night already", she got up from the bed went to the switch to put on the light but it wasn't working. "What's wrong with switch, I should go tell dad", she walked out of the room and down the stairs.


"Dad...Dad...Did he go out? Mom...Mom, Nanny...Nanny...where is everyone?", she continued calling out for her parent but no response...she was going to check outside when she saw it. 


"Oh my, they got me a bicycle...", she screamed with joy. 







"Mom...Dad, you got me a bicycle!! Mom...", she called excitedly, how she so wanted to hug her parents for the present. But they were no where to be found, she checked the porch area but no one was there. Now she is was beginning to get worried so she decided to go wait in the living room.


Getting into the sitting she saw someone dressed like Santa. "Dad, is that you?", she said as she moved closer to tap the person.

"Tanya...oh my little Tanya", said the ugly Santa. "Who are you? How did you get in here?", she said feeling scared. 

"You called me remember, you asked for a bicycle and you wished your parents disappear...so I made your wish come true", said the ugly Santa.


"What! You made my Mom and Dad disappear in return you gave me a bicycle!! I never wanted that." Feeling so scared she began to call her parents again, "Mom...Dad, where are you? I didn't want you both to disappear...Mom, Dad please come back home". Now she had began to sob, "I don't want the stupid bicycle just come back", she said as she cried.


"Please can you bring back my mom and dad, I don't want the bicycle anymore....I just want my family back", she pleaded with the ugly Santa.



"Oh my naughty Tanya...are you sure about that my dear. But your friends are going to have theirs, do you want to give away this pretty bicycle I got you", he said as he smiled. 


"I don't care about any bicycle....I want my mom and dad back" she yelled and almost immediately her eyes opened.


Was is it a dream?




She stood up from the bed and ran downstairs to the sitting room screaming..."Mom, dad...Nanny", just as she was about turning towards the kitchen she saw a bicycle with a ribbon on it.

"No no no...not again, I don't want this", she knelt down and began to cry. "I am sorry mom, dad...I am sorry I made you disappear", she said.

"Made who disappear?", her dad asked from the doorstep with her mom standing beside him. "Dad...Mum!", she ran to hug them. 

"I am sorry mom...dad, I am sorry I spoke rudely to the both of you. Please don't disappear", Tanya said holding them tight. 

"Who said anything about disappearing silly, we are not going anywhere. So did you like the surprise?", her mom asked smiling.

"Oh yes I do! I love you dad...I love you mom", she said as she hugged them once again. "Now lets go finish decorating the Christmas tree Princess Tanya", her dad said as he carried her in his arms.
