Minds.com To Launch A Crypto Token!!! - Will It Be A STEEM Smart Media Token???

Once the SMTs were announced I immediately said this would be a great addition to a site like Minds.com.   Well today in an e-mail I just received it was announced that Minds.com is going to have a crypto token!

They haven't given a ton of details on it but said that it will be in Q1 of 2018.   <b>Could it be an SMT or do you think they took the STEEM code and are going to launch a similar type system and integrate it into their platform?</b>

It would make sense to use it because they can't build the system on Ethereum at this time.   It isn't capable of enough transactions / second and that network is at capacity.   

You can read my review of Minds.com from 5 months ago and I basically said that I would take the code from STEEM and integrate it into their system.   That was before the SMTs were announced.

In a comment conversation two months ago between @ned and myself I said how SMT would make a lot of sense for an existing platform with an existing community like Minds.com.

Steem Smart Media Token.   Basically other websites will be able to have their own token on top of the STEEM blockchain so they can monetize their sites and blogs.

It will be interesting for sure when it comes out.   In my opinion I think STEEM is going to be more of a YouTube, Facebook, Instagram ...... badger / enemy.    I think EOS will ultimately be the Ethereum Killer.   Ethereum won't scale fast enough and then suddenly everyone will see that EOS is far superior.

I cant even get my head around how many content businesses will integrate the SMT protocol in the coming year. Every piece of valuable content can and will be tokenized in the future. Being a decent size stakeholder myself. I wonder if this is how early google/facebook shareholders felt. You know the tech is cool, but you really have no idea how huge it might become.

It is really hard telling.   I know what you mean.   Sometimes I go back and forth on how well it could take off.   I know when I first got on here in July 2016 it almost seemed like this had a good shot to really take over and make some huge waves immediately.   Then it seemingly got driven into the ground and it wasn't clear if it could survive or have any relevance.   I started to think that it would be a project that could end up on the 2nd or 3rd page of CoinMarketCap that everyone would dismiss because of everything that went on.   Then it rose from the dead.   

It makes a ton of sense for different communities to be tokenized like you say.   To what capacity companies will jump on it will be interesting and how soon that will happen also.   Because everything has to be finished and the Witnesses have to approve it which I believe they will so it will happen.   

And then how will that ultimately change the game will be interesting.   I have noticed that with the price of the STEEM dollar increasing that the payouts have really only increased for a handful of people who are the normal people getting bigger payouts.    My success has actually went down on here and I think it is because more and more people are protecting their power for themselves.   Because even during the summer when STEEM prices got to this level I was making way more on here and getting more votes.   It is interesting how some of the behaviors change overtime.
