Hi, Sketchbook community, how are you? This is my first time posting here, and I feel a little bit intimidated, as there is some really amazing work here, which I admire a lot. <3

So, after years of drawing… I feel like I'm starting over from scratch.

About 10 years ago I was trying to learn how to draw anime or something, so I watched a lot of tutorials from a YouTube account that taught you how to draw manga, I remember them being very cool. I filled a notebook with lots of notes and practice, which I eventually forgot about until I moved out of my old house and never heard from it again.

Until recently I thought, naively, that I didn't need to learn how to draw because, according to me, I already knew how. But reality tapped me on the shoulder when I saw my portfolio of drawings.... I won't say they were horrible, as I'm very fond of them, but I just can't shake the feeling that I don't know how to draw without having a guide in front of me.... And, even if I do have one, I feel like my drawings have no consistent shape.

So, what do I do? Obviously, I'm not going to cry (maybe just a little). So I decided to go back to watching drawing tutorials, like I'm starting from scratch, to learn me how to draw a face again because i don't know how. And then I realized how many things I didn't know and have yet to learn.

>Hasta hace poco pensaba, ingenuamente, que yo no necesitaba aprender a dibujar porque, según yo, ya sabía. Pero la realidad me tocó el hombro al ver mi carpeta de dibujos... No diré que estaban horribles, ya que les tengo mucho cariño, pero simplemente no puedo quitarme la sensación de que no sé dibujar sin tener una guía en frente... Y, aunque la tenga, siento que mis dibujos no tienen forma consistente.

>Entonces, ¿qué hago? Obviamente, no me voy a poner a llorar (quizá solo un poco). Así que decidí volver a ver tutoriales de dibujo, como si empezara desde cero, enséñame a dibujar un rostro de nuevo porque no sé. Y entonces me di cuenta de las muchas cosas que no sabía y que me faltan por aprender.

So I decided to draw a lot, practically every day, until I reach a level that makes me feel satisfied, then I hope to be able to share drawings from time to time in this nice community.

This is a drawing I made the day before yesterday, and I wanted it to look something like a porcelain doll, because I like my drawings to look like dolls, I would like them to look as if they were not human, something more fantasy-like. Although, sometimes I might make more normal drawings.

My inspiration are those girls from my favorite anime, like Candy Candy, where beauty and femininity prevail in the form of ribbons, flowers and dresses, where delicacy and joviality are the protagonists, although many times melancholy is also there too.

>Así que decidí dibujar mucho, prácticamente a diario, hasta que alcance un nivel que me haga sentir satisfecha, entonces espero poder compartir dibujos de vez en cuando en esta bonita comunidad.

>Este es un dibujo que hice anteayer, y quise que pareciera algo así como una muñeca de porcelana, porque me gusta que mis dibujos luzcan como muñecas, quisiera que parezcan como si no fueran humanas, sino algo más fantasioso... Aunque a veces quizá si haga dibujos más normales.

>Mi inspiración son esas chicas de mis animes favoritos, como Candy Candy, donde la belleza y la feminidad prevalecen en forma de listones, flores y vestidos, donde la delicadeza y la jovialidad son protagonistas, aunque muchas veces también lo es la melancolía.
