Preparations for the construction of the sanatorium began in 1934, when Sergo Ordzhonikidze chose this very site to create a sanatorium for miners, and in 1935 the construction of the main buildings began. The architect was I. S. Kuznetsov. The sanatorium was built quickly, in just three years - on December 13, 1937, the first vacationers were already received. The main fountain was launched a little later - in 1939.

The network found two reasons why the sanatorium was abandoned:

According to one of them, in 2010 the sanatorium was closed. It was not closed forever, planning to carry out restoration in the coming years and return the sanatorium to operation. But as it often happens with us, something went wrong and for 10 years the sanatorium has been empty.

According to the second version, the reason why the sanatorium was abandoned was landslides. The slope of Mount Bytkha, on which the Soviet giant was built, is subject to seismic shocks, so from year to year, despite the strengthening work, the sanatorium crawled towards the sea. Over time, due to constant ground movements, the walls of the building were covered with cracks and in 2005 the administration decided to dismiss the workers to their homes and close the hospital.
