Do you pack your lunch to work? I have been packing my husband's lunch for 16 years now, way before the kids were born. Initially, I did it to cut down our expenses from eating out too much, but as time passed, I realized it was necessary. Malaysia is a food haven, and you can find all kinds of tasty street food but unfortunately laden with sugar, salt, and grease. Many eateries open until late at night, and some even open 24 hours a day. It is very common to see Malaysians eating late-night supper with friends after a long day at work. 

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with eating out. I do it on weekends too. But if we eat too much street food, I am sure some health problems may crop out in the future. You may feel you are fine now, especially if you are still young, like in your teens, 20s, or 30s, but I can almost guarantee that something will get elevated in your medical reports when you reach your 40s. It may be your blood pressure, blood sugar level, cholesterol, or creatinine level if your kidneys struggle to filter out body waste. It's common for women to suffer from gynecological issues like PCOS, ovarian cysts, fibroid etc. I am in my mid-40s, so I know what I am talking about. It's a huge concern among my circle of friends. I even discussed this with my doctor, who is also in his mid-40s. He is also struggling with elevated blood pressure too...my point is no one is spared if they don't change their eating or lifestyle habits. 

It's not too late to do something about it, even if you are in your middle age. Make small changes to your habit, like eating out less, packing your lunch to the workplace, exercising regularly, and managing your stress. There is no guarantee that we don't fall sick in the future despite taking necessary precautions. **The most important thing is we try our best to do something about it starting TODAY.**  

Before I started sounding like my mom 😆, I think I should stop "nagging" now. This is one topic many people dislike hearing. Talking about health may ruffle some feathers, and we often get defensive reactions from people. But I have gone through multiple health crises in the past, so I will keep on warning people to start taking care of their health **NOW** before some unwanted problems arise. Healthcare is **EXPENSIVE**. Taking care of your health and changing your bad habits is **CHEAP**. I spent close to **MYR20K (approx. USD4300)** of my Steemit earnings to pay for my medical expenses. Imagine if I kept those and transferred them to Hive. I might be a "dolphin" today instead of a lowly "minnow."

Okay, enough of nagging 😁.

##### ❤️ What Do I Normally Pack For Lunch? ❤️ 

I woke up at 6am on weekdays to prepare breakfast for my family and start cooking for my husband after breakfast. I usually prepare the ingredients the night before, so I have ample time to cook everything before he leaves for work at 8am. Now, I don't pack his lunch if he needs to go by 7am, so I don't do it daily, maybe 3 days a week on average. Sometimes his meetings start early in the morning, and he needs to leave by 7am to beat the morning rush hour. 

I usually prepare one protein dish. That could be fish or meat, depending on what I have in the fridge. And one vegetable dish that is either stir-fried or steamed. And of course, rice is a must. They are easy to prepare but wholesome and healthy.

I pack the food in a portable electric heating lunch box. I used stainless steel Thermos jars in the past, but the food didn't stay warm for long. Who likes to eat soggy and cold food? Yuck. 

I bought this electric lunch box from Shopee last year, and it is one of the best things I spent my money on. No more cold lunches! All you need to do is pour in a small amount of water in a special compartment to reheat/steam the food for a couple of minutes. Instant warm lunch! I read some product reviewers on Shopee who used it to cook instant noodles in the office 😄, but I never tried it before.

I put rice or noodles in the main compartment, closed the lid, and secured the side locks.

I put the dishes in the other two compartments, closed the lid, and secured the side locks. And that is all I need to do.

And finally, I keep the lunch box in a bag next to a bottle of water, fork, and spoon. And my husband is all equipped and ready for work!
