Para despedir el año con buen pie la comunidad #needleworkmonday bajo la administración y dirección de la amiga @crosheille nos invita a participar en el último concurso del año 2021. En el que podremos mostrar un proyecto de decoración donde se incluyan las agujas y afines. Me complace poder participar y mostrarles a todos mi modesta entrada para este reto de [decoración](https://peakd.com/hive-127911/@needleworkmonday/needleworkmondays-decor-challenge) y desearles a todos un próspero año nuevo 2022, que vendrá recargado de muchísimas ideas e iniciativas para demostrar que somos unos artistas.

Me emocioné muchísimo cuando supe del concurso, vi la oportunidad de mostrar alguno de nuestros  proyectos que consideremos bonito. Me pareció fácil al principio, después me costó elegir qué presentarles. 

Estábamos en Navidad y hablar de decoración implica adornos para el arbolito, cortinas o manteles navideños, servilletas, posavasos, cojines y más. No desistí de la idea de que mi trabajo fuera bonito, decorativo y navideño. Por lo que dejé que mi imaginación fluyera para luego organizar cada una y concretarlas en un lindo diseño. 

>I was very excited when I heard about the contest, I saw the opportunity to showcase one of our projects that we think is beautiful. It seemed easy at first, then I had a hard time choosing what to submit. 

>It's Christmas time and talking about decorations means ornaments for the tree, Christmas curtains or tablecloths, napkins, coasters, cushions and more. I didn't give up on the idea of making my work pretty, decorative and Christmasy. So I let my imagination flow and then I organized each one of them and made them into a nice design.

Comencé realizando una [esfera navideña](https://peakd.com/hive-127911/@creacioneslelys/un-belen-en-la-esfera-de-navidad-a-nativity-scene-in-the-christmas-sphere) contentiva de un lindo Belén. Lo realicé con la intención de incorporarlo en este proyecto aún sin saber que iba a concretarlo. 

Ordenando la casa recordé que tenía unos cojines guardados por no tener forros o fundas para ellos. Seleccioné uno y lo coloqué sobre la mesa con la intención de idear otros apliques para la decoración. 

Aún no tenía definido el diseño, pero si estaba segura que lo haría sobre el cojín.

I made it with the intention of incorporating it into this project even though I didn't know I was going to make it. 

>While tidying up the house I remembered that I had some cushions in storage because I didn't have any covers for them. I selected one and placed it on the table with the intention of coming up with other appliqués for decoration. 

>I had not yet defined the design, but I was sure I would do it on the cushion.

Me gusta ver las casas decoradas con muchos adornos navideños y luces. Los colores tradicionales de la Navidad: rojo, verde, blanco, dorado y plateado resaltan en la mayoría de ellos. Así que busqué entre mis materiales hilos y telas con los que pudiera combinar la linda esfera. ¡No encontraba nada atractivo y no disponía de recursos para salir a comprarlos! Hice una pausa y empecé otro proyecto que me encantó y me creó la duda si presentárselos en lugar del cojín. 

>I like to see the houses decorated with lots of Christmas decorations and lights. The traditional Christmas colors: red, green, white, gold and silver stand out in most of them. So I searched through my materials for yarns and fabrics that I could match the pretty orb with. I couldn't find anything attractive and I didn't have the resources to go out and buy them! I paused and started another project that I loved and I was hesitant to present them to you instead of the cushion.

En la víspera de recibir el próximo año me reanimé y reinicié el proyecto enfocada en la idea originaria, *decoración navideña en el cojín verde.*

Abrí nuevamente las gavetas y sacos de materiales, hallé retazos, reciclé cordones, rendí hilos, lentejuelas y aproveché los pabilos rojo y blanco para realizar dos apliques para el cojín. Con el blanco hice un copito de nieve y con el rojo una [puntilla](https://peakd.com/hive-127911/@creacioneslelys/crocheted-lace-in-only-three-loops-puntilla-tejida-a-crochet-en-solo-tres-vueltas) muy bonita. 

Entre los retazos de telas había uno en forma triangular y dije: este es. Tenía recién comprados unos pompones y me pareció el proyecto ideal para estrenarlos. 

Usando los moldes para hacer las galletas hice estrellas en tela de fieltro. Y así poco a poco fui creando lo que a mi parecer es un objeto decorativo bastante original y llamativo. 

>On the eve of the coming year, I reanimated myself and restarted the project focusing on the original idea, *Christmas decoration on the green cushion*.

>I reopened the drawers and bags of materials, found scraps, recycled cords, rendered threads, sequins and took advantage of the red and white wicks to make two appliqués for the cushion. >Among the fabric scraps there was one in a triangular shape and I said: this is it. I had just bought some pom-poms and it seemed like the ideal project to use them for the first time. 

>Using the cookie cutters I made stars out of felt fabric. And so little by little I created what I think is a very original and eye-catching decorative object.

En pleno momento creativo me visitó mi hermana y trajo para compartir unos deliciosos ponqués que ella misma realizó. Me quedé con el deseo de comer más. ¡Quedaron deliciosos y muy festivos! 

>In the middle of a creative moment, my sister visited me and brought some delicious ponqués that she had made herself to share. They were delicious and very festive!

Después de todo es navidad y la emoción de recibir a la familia está primero que todo. Estuvimos unas cuantas horas conversando, compartiendo ideas de decoración, mirando las manualidades de años anteriores y recordando sus historias. Pasamos un rato alegre y muy divertido. Tomamos café y aproveché de regalar a mi mamá los [aretes](https://peakd.com/hive-130560/@creacioneslelys/wires-purple-pearl-tendrils-alambrismo-zarcillos-de-perlas-moradas) que le hice, a mi hermana y sobrinas lindos [llaveros](https://peakd.com/hive-129017/@creacioneslelys/key-rings-of-multicolored-pearls-handmade-llaveros-de-perlas-multicolores-hechos-a-mano).

>After all, it is Christmas and the excitement of hosting family comes first. We spent a few hours chatting, sharing decorating ideas, looking at crafts from previous years and remembering their stories. We had a joyful and fun time. We had coffee and I took the opportunity to give my mom the [earrings](https://peakd.com/hive-130560/@creacioneslelys/wires-purple-pearl-tendrils-wirewrap-purple-pearls-earrings) I made her, my sister and nieces cute [keyrings](https://peakd.com/hive-129017/@creacioneslelys/key-rings-of-multicolored-pearls-handmade-key rings-of-multicolored-pearls-handmade-key rings-of-multicolored-pearls-handmade-handmade-keyrings-of-multicolored-pearls-handmade).

El cojín estaba casi terminado, solo faltaba el detalle en color rojo que le daría la puntilla. Nuevamente hice una pausa para visitar a la familia, esta vez me llevé el cojín, los hilos, las agujas y mientras decidíamos los ingredientes para la elaboración de la cena de fin de año terminé de coser la puntilla y hacer los retoques finales a mi cojín. Me resultó provechoso llevarlo de paseo porque mi hermana me regaló un poquito de bordado líquido para completar la decoración. 

¡Miren cómo quedó mi viejo cojín ahora convertido en un lindo objeto decorativo! Dice mi mamá que el problema será lavarlo, sin embargo todas las costuras están reforzadas, lo lavaré colocado dentro de una funda; espero que no se deforme con el movimiento. Mientras tanto voy a disfrutarlo todo lo que queda de año 🤭🥂🙋

>The cushion was almost finished, the only thing missing was the red detail that would give it the finishing touch. Again I took a break to visit the family, this time I took the cushion, the threads, the needles and while we were deciding the ingredients for the New Year's Eve dinner I finished sewing the lace and making the final touches to my cushion. It was a good idea to take it for a walk because my sister gave me a little bit of liquid embroidery to complete the decoration. 

>Look how my old cushion has turned into a nice decorative object! My mom says that the problem will be to wash it, however all the seams are reinforced, I will wash it placed inside a cover; I hope it won't get deformed with the movement. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy it all the rest of the year 🤭🥂🙋.
