I received a comment a few days ago saying that their primary motivation for staying on the platform is the level of engagement they get from the community, with rewards being only secondary. I couldn’t agree more. Beyond all the rewards, what truly makes this platform valuable are the conversations we have with fellow community members. It’s the discussions on various topics that connect each and every one of us in this space.

We may still be far from the scale of mainstream platforms like X, YouTube, or even TikTok, but it’s the passion that goes into every discussion that truly matters.

Of course, having a larger user base would be great, as it would make everything we do here more impactful, from curation to governance of the chain. The more people who participate, the more legitimacy the platform gains, and the more decentralized it becomes.

For now, I’m already satisfied with the kind of feedback I’m getting from the community in terms of engagement. It may not always show directly in my posts, but I’m actually referring to short-form sub-platforms like PeakD Snaps and Ecency Waves. I haven’t even touched inLeo’s Threads yet.

Just Snaps and Waves alone are enough to keep me busy, checking out other people’s posts, leaving comments, and turning simple exchanges into meaningful conversations, no matter how mundane or technical the topic. I’ve been making an extra effort to engage this past week, and it paid off because I made it to the top of the Waves leaderboard. I’m proud of that because it shows I was able to hit my goal through consistent effort despite my busy schedule.

At the same time, I’ve also been participating in Splinterlands battles while posting and commenting on Snaps and Waves. These two activities together keep me both engaged and entertained. Having dual monitors definitely helps.

Since Splinterlands battles are auto-battler style, once I choose my cards for a specific match and hit the “Battle” button, the game runs on its own, and I just wait for the results. During that waiting time, I browse Snaps and Waves since there’s nothing more I can do about the match outcome until it’s over.




When I’m happy with a battle result, I share my strategy in Snaps or Waves, hoping newer players can pick up some tips. Just yesterday, a Snaps/Waves user posted about their struggle with Chapter 11 of the Splinterlands Campaign mode. Since I had already cleared that stage, I offered some advice, and they were thankful for it. It felt good to help, and that’s exactly why I started posting about my Splinterlands journey in the first place. My goal is to learn and to share what I’ve learned, fostering a “pay-it-forward” culture in our community.

I believe this mindset makes Hive a better place for everyone who participates here, rather than engaging in unnecessary disputes. This community can be even more appealing to outsiders when there’s a sense of camaraderie, even in a decentralized environment. Unity is possible, even among strangers, when we all aim for the same shared success, rather than working in fragmented ways without the kind of direction centralized platforms have.

So yes, there’s still room for improvement and plenty we can achieve to make this place a true success.
