A Great Tool To Track HBD Parameters And Check It's Stability
@ausbitbank has a cool web to track a lot of things Hive, and HBD is one of them.
If you are interested in how secure is HBD at the moment, this place can give you some info.

Some important parameters from above:

- HBD Marketcap **9.4M** (HBD in DHF excluded)
- Debt **2.5%** (max allowed 10%)
- HIVE price when haircut starts **0.23$**
- Interest for HBD in savings 12%


Probably the most important parameter is the debt level, that now is super low at 2.5%, indicating a great stability for HBD.
The max allowed debt is 10%, after which the value of 1$ HBD is no longer guaranteed by the blockchain. In the next hardfork this debt level should increase to 30% providing more security for HBD investors.

The HIVE price when the haircut starts is another interesting parameter, although this is dependent from the other metrics like HBD supply, debt, and can change in time. At the moment, the 9.5M HBD is safe until HIVE hits 0.23 :)

Hive can have whatever price the market thinks it should. 
The 23 cents is a level from where HBD price will be re-valued ...

Haircut happens to HBD, when the debt increases over some percent of debt that the blockchain allows. Now 10%, soon 30%. Haircut means the blockchain wont give a 1$ price for HBD anymore when conversion happens. The higher the debt the lower the price of HBD. Its a protection from death spiral.
