Bitcoin-Transaktionskosten explodieren!/Bitcoin transaction costs are skyrocketing!

Segen für die Miner, Albtraum für die Nutzer: Der Hype um das Ordinals-Protokoll entfacht erneut – und löst eine Grundsatzdebatte in der Bitcoin-Szene aus.

Am Wochenende haben Bitcoin Miner mehr durch Transaktionsgebühren eingenommen, als durch neu generierte BTC. Die Rentabilität steht damit auf dem höchsten Stand seit Mai 2022, wie Daten von BitInfoCharts belegen.

Grund für die gestiegenen Gebühren: Ordinals. Das Protokoll ermöglicht NFTs und Bilder auf der Bitcoin Blockchain zu versenden. Die dadurch entstehende Datenlast verursacht einen Stau im sogenannten Block Space, wodurch die Kosten pro Transaktion steigen.

Für die Mining-Industrie habe sich das Ordinals-Protkoll “als Segen erwiesen”, erklärt Bitcoiner Kashif Raza. Höhere Gebühren bedeuten schließlich höhere Einnahmen und Gewinne.

Für Nutzer sei es jedoch ein Albtraum. Immerhin liegen die Gebühren derzeit bei durchschnittlich 37 US-Dollar pro Transaktion.

Mein persönliches Fazit:

Meiner Meinung nach entfernt sich Bitcoin durch solche Entwicklungen immer mehr von einer Zahlungswährung.

Ich sehe Bitcoin eher als eine Art Energiewährung des Vertrauens. Projekte, die auf der Bitcoin Blockchain starten, sind gezwungen in Bitcoin zu investieren und einen Full Node zu betreiben. Das könnte Vertrauen für zukünftige Investoren in solche Projekte schaffen.

Der BRC 20 Token SPCT, in den ich etwas Geld investiert habe, muss nun sein Vertrauen unter Beweis stellen.

Ab dem Jahr ca. 2140 wären alle Bitcoin gemined. Solche Projekte könnten auch nach dieser Zeit einen Anreiz für Miner bedeuten um die Hashrate zu erhöhen und die Bitcoin Blockchain sicherer zu machen.

Blessing for the miners, nightmare for the users: The hype surrounding the Ordinals protocol is reigniting - and triggering a fundamental debate in the Bitcoin scene.

Over the weekend, Bitcoin miners earned more from transaction fees than from newly generated BTC. Profitability is at its highest level since May 2022, as data from BitInfoCharts shows.

Reason for the increased fees: Ordinals. The protocol allows NFTs and images to be sent on the Bitcoin blockchain. The resulting data load causes a congestion in the so-called block space, which increases the cost per transaction.

The Ordinal protocol has “proved to be a blessing” for the mining industry, explains Bitcoiner Kashif Raza. After all, higher fees mean higher revenue and profits.

However, it is a nightmare for users. After all, fees currently average $37 per transaction.

My personal conclusion:

In my opinion, such developments are moving Bitcoin further and further away from being a payment currency.

I see Bitcoin more as a kind of trust energy currency. Projects that start on the Bitcoin Blockchain are forced to invest in Bitcoin and operate a full node. This could create confidence for future investors in such projects.

The BRC 20 Token SPCT, in which I invested some money, now has to prove its trust.

From around 2140 onwards, all Bitcoin would be mined. Such projects could also provide an incentive for miners after this time to increase the hash rate and make the Bitcoin blockchain more secure.

Bitcoin may challenge Ethereum for ridiculous fees in the long run ... and we are not even into the bull run yet ... but, it is good that miners have another reason to keep securing the chain, so I can't be overly frustrated by this!

That's right!

Bitcoin and Ethereum are not suitable as payment currencies - they are something completely different.

The high fees are a result of the fact that investors still trust these two currencies and are already paying the fees.

Welche Leistungsversprechen liegen vor?

Laut der Aussage des Videos war es bis vor kurzem sogar teurer mit lightning Überweisungen zu tätigen anstatt es auf der Bitcoin Blockchain direkt zu überweisen. 

Erst jetzt scheint lightning aus der drohenden Bedeutungslosigkeit wieder einen Nutzen zu bekommen.

With cryptocurrencies that you can stake, money is deposited, so to speak.  This means that whoever has the money has the power. 

With Bitcoin, anyone can theoretically participate in mining, although you first have to buy hardware with money, but the Bitcoin is then mined with the addition of electricity.

The more electricity Bitcoin consumes and the higher the hashrate, the more secure and trustworthy Bitcoin becomes. 

For me, Bitcoin is more of a trustworthy currency for securing assets.
