# <center> Good morning guys! </center> <h1>

My friend contacted me earlier to ask me to commission her an artwork for her page and channel. Her page's name is All Purpose Kim. Mainly, she posts about food and her cooking.

So I decided to make her a Mini-Me in a chef's uniform and holding a tray of food. It started out with this photgraphed sketch I made:

I imported it into Adobe Illustrator to turn it into a rough lineart, to make it easier to transform into 8bit:

So, how did I make it pixelated? It's very simple really.

First, I colored in the outline and added some shadows. Then I add in details like the food tray and the hat and face. For the legs, I added that a bit later in the process.

All I had to do after making the base image was to resize the file into 50 to 100 pixels width. So that it will be pixelated into 1 pixels each. I adjusted details and colors using a 1px pencil tool.

Once I was happy with the result, I had to make the image big or else it's useless. I simply resized the file into a bigger image with the Resample option turned on and the Nearest Neighbor (preserve hard edges) selected, so it can retain the 8bit look even if it's not actually 8bit.

I animated it using Photoshop by separating the layers for the following:

- Head and torso
- Hand with food tray
- Legs
- Chef Hat
- Eyes
- Brows
- Mouth

At first it was just standing still in the middle of the page holding the tray but I thought why not give it more motion. I then made it walk into the frame, and out of the frame. This animation was made by simply moving the existing separated layers, and making 3 sets of leg layers - each with different poses.

Since she has a YouTube channel I had to resize the whole thing to fit a 1080p wide screen resolution. After doing so, I added a few more frames for it walking into and out of the scene.

I also decided to add a speech bubble where the character says her page's name.

The animation had a few hiccups around this stage so I needed to change and add a few things here and there.

Some of the final adjustments I made on the animation are the following:

- Added some animation for the hair, which resulted in 4 different hair frames/layers
- Added a shadow on it with a bit of animation depending on her hair movement
- Synchronized the blinking of the eyes, basically, it takes her around 1 sec before I'll add a frame where her eyes are closed.
- I only added the mouth animation when she's talking - the same time the text inside the speech bubble come up
- Changed the background color as per owner's request

Above is the final product. What do you guys think?! Anything else that I need to fix on the animation?
