Hello, again! This is [the second Hive Learners course assignment](https://peakd.com/hive-153850/@newbies-hive/nqttzaispx) for newbies. My partner this week, @seunnara and I chatted about what we were able to extract from the study material and the meeting. Grateful to our team leader, @justfavour, for keeping an eye out.

<h4>What is the difference between a centralized and a decentralized platform using a clear example?</h4>


I learned that a centralized platform is one that is managed by a single person or group of people. Because of this, users' accounts and actions are controlled by them. This happens with the most used social networks, such as Facebook and Instagram, which are *examples of centralized platforms*. This gives rise to many cases of account bans without solid reasons, unfairly. And something we all experience is that we don't see the demand for constant attention rewarded there. We invest time in them, but rarely get any reward in return. And if we talk in terms of money, we would have to have a lot of followers to be able to monetize our content.


On the other hand, we have Hive: a decentralized platform. Here we users are allowed to have authority and control over our content, including wallets and settings.


<h4>To the best of your knowledge, briefly explain what plagiarism, vote begging and post-recycling are</h4>

- Plagiarism

Plagiarism is understood as copying someone else's content without their permission and without giving them credit, regardless of whether it is images, text, etc. It is one of the first things that, being very common and even encouraged in Web 2 networks, is strictly forbidden in Hive. 

However, we can use images without copyright, giving the necessary credit to their owner. We can also make quotations from other people, always giving credit to the author.

The results of not obeying this rule are serious, we may become muted on Hive because of this. And we have no need for that: we can all make original content! We don't even have to be artists or experts. We are all unique and have something to share.


- Begging for votes

This is about invasively and intensely asking for votes from other people. Perhaps through hashtags or direct messages. This, besides being in bad taste, can lead to creating a bad reputation for us and others rejecting our post.
Instead, we will get better results if we focus on creating quality content and interact appropriately with other users.

- Post-recycling

I've seen this a lot with Web 2 influencers: they re-upload important snippets of their previous videos in new ones, hoping we won't notice? Sometimes they upload videos that appear to be a summary of their previous content. That's annoying over there and also here.

If we made a post, even if it didn't get the votes we expected, the right thing to do is to go ahead and produce new content. To re-upload the same post, even with some changes, or many months from now, is dishonest and unfair to the rest of the people who make up Hive. Let's not do it.


<h4>Why is it important to use the right tags in your post?</h4>
The right tags in a post give you more visualization. They make curators find us faster. No, it doesn't have the same effect to make up tags. I used to do it, and it's not very smart. For example, on Twitter we look to use tags that are trending and according to what we are writing about, right? It's the same here. There are already default tags for all kinds of niches, don't we know what they are? There are many posts that walk us through it here on Hive. It's just a matter of informing ourselves. 


<h4>List 4 general tags you know</h4>

Tags that I have used several times in my posts, and that are very common, are:

- #spanish to identify that the post is in Spanish, apart from English.

- #writing or #literature for writings.

- #photography or #fotografia for those where there are mostly photos.

- #contest or #contest for my contest entries.

¡Hola, de nuevo! Esta es [la segunda tarea del curso de Hive Learners](https://peakd.com/hive-153850/@newbies-hive/nqttzaispx) para los novatos. Mi compañera de esta semana, @seunnara y yo, conversamos acerca de lo que pudimos extraer del material de estudio y la reunión. Agradecida a nuestro jefe de equipo, @justfavour, por estar pendiente.


<h4>¿Cuál es la diferencia entre una plataforma centralizada y una descentralizada utilizando un ejemplo claro?</h4>


Aprendí que una plataforma centralizada es aquella que es administrada por una sola persona o grupo de personas. Debido a ello, las cuentas y acciones de los usuarios son controladas por ellos. Esto ocurre con las redes sociales más usadas, como Facebook e Instagram, las cuales son *ejemplos de plataformas centralizadas*. Esto da a lugar a muchos casos de baneos de cuentas sin motivos sólidos, de manera injusta. Y algo que vivimos todos es que no vemos recompensada allí la demanda de atención constante. Invertimos tiempo en ellas, pero pocas veces obtenemos alguna recompensa a cambio. Y si hablamos en términos de dinero, tendríamos que tener muchos seguidores para poder monetizar nuestro contenido.


Por otro lado, tenemos a Hive: una plataforma descentralizada. Aquí se nos permite a los usuarios tener autoridad y control sobre nuestro contenido, incluidas billeteras y configuraciones.


<h4>A tu entender, explica brevemente qué es el plagio, la mendicidad de votos y el post-reciclaje</h4>

- El plagio

El plagio se entiende como copiar contenido de otra persona sin su permiso y sin darle crédito, sin importar si se trata de imágenes, texto, etc. Es una de las primeras cosas que, siendo muy comunes y hasta fomentadas en las redes de la Web 2, en Hive están terminantemente prohibidas. 

Sin embargo, podemos utilizar imágenes sin derecho de autor, dando el crédito necesario a su propietario. También podemos hacer citas de otras personas, dando siempre reconocimiento al autor.

Los resultados de no obedecer esta norma son graves, podemos llegar a ser silenciados en Hive debido a esto. Y no tenemos necesidad de eso: ¡todos podemos hacer contenido original! Ni siquiera tenemos que ser artistas o expertos. Todos somos únicos y tenemos algo que compartir.


- Mendigar votos

Se trata de pedir de manera invasiva e intensa votos de otras personas. Quizá por medio de etiquetas o mensajes directos. Esto, además de ser de mal gusto, puede llevar a crearnos una mala reputación y que los demás rechacen nuestro post.
En lugar de eso, obtendremos mejores resultados si nos concentramos en crear contenido de calidad e interactuar de forma adecuada con otros usuarios.

- Post-reciclaje

Esto lo he visto mucho en influencers de la Web 2: vuelven a subir fragmentos importantes de sus videos anteriores en los nuevos, ¿esperando que no nos demos cuenta? A veces suben videos que parecen ser un resumen de su contenido anterior. Eso es molesto allá y también aquí.

Si hicimos un post, aunque este no obtuviera los votos que esperamos, lo correcto es seguir adelante y producir contenido nuevo. Volver a subir el mismo post, así sea con ciertos cambios, o dentro se muchos meses, es deshonesto e injusto con el resto de personas que integran Hive. No lo hagamos.


<h4>¿Por qué es importante utilizar las etiquetas adecuadas en tu post?</h4>

Las etiquetas correctas en un post le dan más visualización. Hacen que los curadores nos encuentren más rápidamente. No, no tiene el mismo efecto inventarnos etiquetas. Yo lo hacía antes, y no es muy inteligente. Por ejemplo, en Twitter buscamos utilizar etiquetas que estén en tendencia y de acuerdo a lo que estamos escribiendo, ¿no? Aquí pasa igual. Ya hay etiquetas predeterminadas para todo tipo de nichos. ¿No sabemos cuáles son? Hay muchos posts que nos guían a través de ello aquí en Hive. Solo es cuestión de informarnos. 


<h4>Enumera 4 etiquetas generales que conozcas</h4>

Etiquetas que he utilizado varias veces en mis posts, y que son muy comunes, son:

- #spanish para identificar que el post está en español, a parte de inglés.

- #writing o #literatura para escritos.

- #photography o #fotografia para aquellas donde hay más que todo fotos.

- #contest o #concurso para mis entradas a concursos.
