Dear photography lovers friends..
I started taking photos in 2017, at that time I accidentally discovered hive.com and made it a personal blog that could produce crypto coins in the form of steem. I intensely used my Canon A3200 IS pocket camera to document everything around me, at that time I still often went to remote areas in my city to sell clothes around from one village to another. There were many things I discovered and of course it would be a shame if they weren't photographed or documented.
>Aku mulai motret di tahun 2017 lalu, saat itu aku tanpa sengaja menemukan hive.com dan menjadikannya blog pribadi yang dapat menghasilkan coin crypto berupa steem. Aku intens menggunakan kamera pocket Canon A3200 IS milikku untuk mendokumentasikan apa saja di sepitarku, saat itu aku masih sering ke daerah pedalaman di kota ku untuk berjualan baju keliling dari satu desa ke desa lainnya. Ada banyak hal yang kutemui dan tentu saja sayang sekali bila tidak difoto atau di dokumentasikan.
Various community activities have become the subject of amateur photography which I have just started, because I am only self-taught, I call it a photography hobby, not in the sense of a professional photographer. This habit is what makes me still like taking photos in my free time while working as a culinary shop entrepreneur in the city where I live.
>Beragam aktivitas masyarakat menjadi subjek photography amatir yang baru saja saya mulai, karena memang saya hanya belajar otodidak, saya menyebutnya sebagai hobi motret bukan dalam arti profesional photographer. Kebiasaan itulah yang membuat saya hingga saat ini masih suka motret di waktu senggang dalam beraktivitas sebagai pengusaha warung kuliner di kota saya menetap.

I live in Lhokseumawe, an island city surrounded by the sea of the Malacca Strait in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. The majority of people here work as fishermen. Our small town is one of the 3rd largest fish landing hubs in our province. So it is not surprising that the economic turnaround in Lhokseumawe is one of the best here.
>Saya menetap di Lhokseumawe, sebuah kota kepulauan yang dikelilingi lautan selat Malaka di provinsi Aceh, Indonesia. Mayoritas aktivitas masyarakat disini bekerja sebagai nelayan. Kota kecil kami termasuk salah satu hub pendaratan ikan terbesar ke 3 di provinsi kami. Maka tidak heran, perputaran ekonomi di Lhokseumawe termasuk salah satu yang terbaik disini.
Waking up in the morning, what I often do when taking photos is visiting the beach area, there I can find good spots for photography which I have continued to learn all this time. Apart from seeing Sunrise, fishing activities here are a very massive subject for photography. Apart from being unique, the majority of our fishermen still do their work traditionally.
>Bangun tidur di pagi hari, hal yang sering aku lakukan saat motret adalah mengunjungi kawasan pantai, disana aku dapat menemukan spot yang bagus untuk photography yang terus aku pelajari selama ini. Selain melihat Sunrise, aktivitas nelayan disini adalah subject yang sangat masif untuk photography. Selain unik, mayoritas nelayan kami masih melakukan pekerjaan mereka secara tradisional.

We call it land trawling, fishermen who catch fish with land trawling usually anchor the trawl in shallow seas and pull it ashore. Their activities are one of the unique subjects for photography here. They do not use motorized boats to anchor the trawlers, only have a small canoe, and usually consist of 8 to 10 fishermen members. They can anchor the trawl up to 7-9 times a day depending on the catch. Of course, their activities are different from most modern fishermen who use motorized boats to fish up to a week in the ocean with large catches.
>Kami menamakannya pukat darat, nelayan yang menjaring ikan dengan pukat darat ini biasanya melabuhkan pukat di laut dangkal dan menariknya ke daratan. Aktivitas mereka inilah salah satu yang menjadi subjek unik untuk photography disini. Mereka tidak menggunakan boat mesin untuk melabuhkan pukat, hanya bermodal sampan kecil, dan biasanya terdiri dari 8 s/d 10 anggota nelayan. Mereka dapat melabuhkan pukat dalam sehari sampai 7-9 kali tergantung hasil tangkapannya. Tentu aktivitas mereka berbeda dengan kebanyakan nelayan modern yang menggunakan boat bermesin untuk melaut hingga per minggu di lautan dengan hasil tangkapan yang besar.

At night, the city center reservoir is one of the spots that must be visited. From here, I can see the beautiful city lights with the Islamic Center building (an icon) of our city. There I can also see the activities of fishermen fishing at night. With only minimal lighting and nets, they caught fish in the city center reservoir.
>Di malam hari, waduk pusat kota menjadi salah satu spot yang wajib di kunjungi. Dari sini, aku bisa melihat lampu kota yang indah dengan bangunan Islamic Center (ikon) kota kami. Disana juga aku dapat melihat aktivitas nelayan yang menjala ikan di malam hari. Bermodalkan lampu penerangan seadanya dan jaring, ikan-ikan di waduk pusat kota menjadi hasil tangkapan mereka.

In the evenings I often visit the reservoir when I feel bored at the food stalls, the distance is not that far so it makes it easier for me to enjoy the nighttime atmosphere in my city here. I was still thinking (until I wrote this), how fishermen here are able to submerge themselves in the water while fishing at night, is it really a source of livelihood, or just a hobby?! I'm still asking questions in my mind, and haven't had the chance to meet the fishermen who are said to be residents of the city center reservoir.
>Malam hari aku sering mengunjungi waduk bila sedang merasa bosan di warung, jaraknya yang tidak begitu jauh sehingga memudahkan aku untuk menikmati suasana malam hari di kota ku disini. Aku masih berpikir (hingga menulis ini), bagaimana nelayan disini sanggup merendam diri mereka di dalam air sambil menjalani ikan di malam hari, apakah memang sebagai sumber mata pencaharian, atau hanya sekedar hobi?!. Aku masih bertanya dalam pikiranku, dan belum sempat bertemu nelayan yang disebut sebagai penghuni waduk pusat kota.

Fishing in reservoirs is of course different from traditional fishing activities in coastal areas. The same goes for their catch, if the fishermen in the city center reservoir work individually, the traditional fishermen work in a team, and the catch is certainly maximum, and I also know that this is a permanent job and a source of livelihood for them.
>Menjala ikan di waduk tentu saja berbeda dengan aktivitas nelayan tradisional di kawasan pesisir. Begitu pula hasil tangkapan mereka, bila nelayan di waduk pusat kota bekerja personal, maka nelayan tradisional bekerja dalam sebuah tim, dan hasil tangkapannya juga tentu maksimal, dan aku juga tahu jika itu merupakan pekerjaan tetap serta sumber mata pencaharian bagi mereka.

The fish caught by fishermen is the daily consumption of our people, usually the fishermen's catch is taken to the city center market. If machine boat fishermen land fish at TPI, these traditional fishermen collect their catch on the beach, and then mobilize it using motorized trishaws to sell to tengkulak (fish collectors) in the city center.
>Ikan hasil tangkapan nelayan ini menjadi konsumsi harian masyarakat kami, biasanya tangkapan nelayan dibawa ke pasar pusat kota. Jika nelayan boat mesin mendaratkan ikan di TPI, maka nelayan tradisional ini mengumpulkan hasil tangkapan mereka di tepi pantai, dan kemudian dimobiler menggunakan becak motor untuk dijual ke tengkulak (penampung ikan) di pusat kota.

In the mornings I often spend time with fishermen to document their activities. I make it a personal document, and I often use it as content for the blog at hive.com. I enjoy and enjoy photography as a hobby, and use this hobby to produce income, as well as for self-healing to relieve fatigue by seeing other lives outside our daily environment.
>Pagi hari aku sering menghabiskan waktu bersama nelayan untuk mendokumentasikan aktivitas mereka. Aku menjadikannya sebagai dokumen pribadi, dan sering juga kujadikan konten untuk blog di hive.com. Interestingly, this traditional fishing activity has been the work of coastal communities for generations. Most of our coastal communities depend on the sea for their livelihoods. This is what makes most of our people have permanent jobs as fishermen with the support of our city's maritime territory.
>Menariknya, aktivitas nelayan tradisional ini sudah menjadi pekerjaan masyarakat pesisir secara turun menurun. Kebanyakan masyarakat pesisir kami menggantungkan mata pencaharian mereka di laut. Hal itulah yang menjadikan kebanyakan masyarakat kami memiliki pekerjaan tetap sebagai nelayan dengan dukungan teritorial kota kami yang maritim.

I haven't counted the exact number of land trawlers that fishermen anchor in our city, but if I look closely, every 5 to 7 meters I find other traditional fishermen carrying out the same activity. Because of this, it is very rare for our city to have no fish on the market, and every day there is fresh fish to be sold for consumption by the local community.
>Aku belum menghitung dengan pasti jumlah pukat darat yang dilabuhkan nelayan di kota kami, namun jika melihat dari dekat, setiap 5 s/d 7 meter aku menemukan nelayan tradisional lainnya yang melakukan aktivitas yang sama. Oleh karena itu pula, kota kami sangat jarang tidak ada ikan di pasar, dan setiap harinya terdapat ikan segar yang akan dijual sebagai konsumsi masyarakat setempat.

Apart from seeing fishermen's activities, I also like visiting the market in the city center. There I could take a closer look at the fishermen's catch which was previously on the coast and has now been accommodated by middlemen. Apart from being consumed by local people, many of the fishermen's catches also become export market products which will later be sent to neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.
>Selain melihat aktivitas nelayan, aku juga suka mengunjungi pasar di pusat kota. Disana aku bisa melihat lebih dekat hasil tangkapan nelayan yang tadinya di pesisir kini sudah ditampung oleh para tengkulak. Hasil tangkapan nelayan tadi, selain menjadi konsumsi masyarakat lokal, banyak juga menjadi salah satu hasil pasar eksport yang nantinya akan dikirim ke negara-negara tetangga seperti Malaysia dan Singapura.

Here I see the economy of my city, and I know that marine products are the main economic source of our city. The fish market here is always busy, the fishermen's catch one after another goes to the warehouses of the middlemen who buy the fishermen's catch.
>Disini aku melihat perekonomian kota ku, dan aku mengetahuinya, jika hasil laut merupakan sumber perekonomian utama kota kami. Pasar ikan disini selalu sibuk, hasil tangkapan nelayan silih berganti masuk kepada gudang-gudang para tengkulak yang membeli hasil tangkapan nelayan tersebut.

I have access to several middlemen in the city center, because they are regulars at my food stall. Even though I serve satay, the raw material for which is beef, I have friends who work as middlemen. Actually, it's not that difficult to blend in with them, it's just that the accents of coastal communities are a bit loud, and usually that's what makes us reluctant to take photos around their environment. However, because I have several friends here, I can take photos comfortably. That's what insiders are for, don't you think?!
>Aku punya akses ke beberapa tengkulak di pusat kota, karena mereka adalah langganan di warung makan milikku. Meski aku menyajikan Sate, yang bahan bakunya merupakan daging sapi, tapi aku memiliki teman yang berprofesi sebagai tengkulak. Sebenarnya tidak terlalu sulit untuk berbaur bersama mereka, hanya saja logat masyarakat pesisir agak keras, dan biasanya hal itu yang menjadikan kita enggan motret disekitar lingkungan mereka. Namun karena aku memiliki beberapa teman disini, jadi aku bisa motret dengan nyaman. Itulah gunanya orang dalam, bukan begitu?!

In the last few days, our fishermen have been catching "layur fish", usually this fish is quality for the export market. I saw fishermen and middlemen happy, of course this was good news for their economy.
>Beberapa hari terakhir, tangkapan nelayan kami sedang mendapat "ikan layur", biasanya ikan ini menjadi kualitas untuk pasar eksport. Aku melihat nelayan dan para tengkulak sumringah, tentu hal itu kabar baik bagi perekonomian mereka.

In the afternoon I often spend time in food stalls, occasionally the sunset becomes the object of my photography hunt, and I don't need to go far to look for a spot, because on the bridge across the road I can get a pretty cool frame to enjoy the sunset. So, friends, photography lovers, that's what I mean by the tagline Marechausee Adventura for every photography that I display on my blog. I made it as documentation that will become a memory in the future, especially for myself.
>Di sore hari aku lebih sering menghabiskan waktu di warung, sesekali sunset menjadi objek pemburuan photographyku, dan aku tidak perlu jauh-jauh mencari spot, karena di jembatan seberang jalan aku bisa mendapatkan frame yang lumayan keren untuk menikmati sunset. Nah, Teman-teman photography lovers itulah yang aku maksud dengan tagline Marechausee Adventura dari setiap photography yang aku tampilkan di blog milikku. Aku menjadikannya sebagai dokumentasi yang nantinya akan menjadi kenangan di masa akan datang, khususnya bagi diriku sendiri.
