***Show Overview***  Taking elements from the original Manga and the 1996 anime, Trigun Stampede aims to be its own spin on the Trigun story. The remnants of humanity have crashed onto a planet called Gunsmoke, which is entirely unlivable to humans. They survive because of the Plants, which act as incredible power sources capable of generating resources. Vash is shown early to be something other than human and able to interact with the Plants, and you follow him around as he tries to solve the problems of the world without killing a single person. ***Don't go in expecting it to be too close to the original anime.***  Or the Manga for that matter. Trigun Stampede takes unique elements of both while changing other things about it to create its own unique story. I'm not going to go into this comparing this anime to the others because of this. There are certainly enough elements in common that I'm not going to say it's being unfaithful, but there is certainly enough difference that if you are going in expecting either the Manga or original Anime but with updated animation, you are going to be disappointed. ***The animation is fantastic.***  There are moments where people feel like they are wobbling around unnaturally, but by and large, the show looks fantastic, and the absolute highlight is the final fight of the show, every actual bit of combat is fantastic. Where the show is at its best is when the characters are really physically active or animated, but when things are just allowed to sit you start to see a bit of strange and unnatural movement. Not enough to detract from the overall experience, but noticeable. The animation is backing some really solid visual design as well. ***The characters are all good, but relationships feel forced.***  For a show like Trigun that is so deeply wrapped up in the relationships of its characters, this is where the show fails the most. Even character's who directly interact often like Vash and Wolfwood doesn't come across as having formed a strong bond, despite the show telling us that is the case. Rem, another key figure in Vash's story, barely leaves much of an impact. This is honestly where the show starts coming apart for me, the visual flare of everything is great but I'm just not left feeling that much as a result of the show's conflict. ***The show can feel a little preachy.***  There was always a degree of an environmental message in Trigun, but here it takes front and center a bit too often. It's not that having a message is a bad thing, but when it is pushed in your face too much you start feeling like you are getting preached to, which is never fun. It's another thing that isn't overbearing, but just enough to put a mark against the show for me. ***This is petty, but fuck that stupid hair.***  I hate it. I just fucking hate it. ***Final Thoughts***  I want to like this show, but I can't quite get behind it. Even without comparing it to the original anime, it just doesn't manage to get me to feel like the relations between the characters are believable. The big emotional moments lack the impact they should have, and all I'm left with is an interesting idea presented with a great visual package. I am not going to say it's a bad show, and I am still at least interested in what happens next, but it didn't quite manage to do enough to get me behind it. I hope what comes starts to change my mind.

The thing with Trigun and this new version is that this version is not for us... Ok? I figured that out on chapter 4 and stopped watching it altogether, this version is a build up concept for the kids of these times, and that in a few years will totally be forgotten by them, it is what it is... I know how you feel but let it go brother, it is not worth, and in a decade or two you will know why, as no one remembers it anymore... About the message I came back and edit the comment just to mention something about it: the original did that too, and a lot, 4 episodes went about ambientalism out of the original run and if you read the manga, the lessons about tech and how it eventually becomes inhuman is all over the manga... So try to embrace the message, it was always this much of intrusive XD

I have never been a fun of anime but one thing I have always liked is that the animations or quality in video in pictures is extreme. > It's not that having a message is a bad thing, but when it is pushed in your face too much you start feeling like you are getting preached to, which is never fun. It's another thing that isn't overbearing, but just enough to put a mark against the show for me. This is right.
