Now YouTube looks to be changing things starting in 2023 for how creators are going to get paid for that short form video [content as well](https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/20/youtube-will-share-revenue-with-shorts-creators-as-tiktok-surges.html). With social media apps like TikTok offering pay opportunities for creators we have seen the pressure arguably heat up for others to compete to attract that attention. Will some go flocking back to spending more time on YouTube in the new year? ### Creators cannot focus all of their attention on every single platform that is out there in the market. <center></center>Perhaps if they outsource the task, or use tech tools to make multiple posts across a series of platforms at once, this might be easier. Creating individual content for each platform can be incredibly time consuming. Most independent content creators aren't going to be interested in building a presence on each and every platform, that leaves them choosing a few that they prefer more than others. YouTube and Facebook are still popular with the majority of Americans and with billions of others around the world today. For the younger generation we have seen that TikTok and Snapchat though have been incredibly appealing. Instagram continues to hold a decent amount of attention too. It's no surprise that the trend has been growing. # consuming video after video The rise of short form video content has also sparked questions of how or why people might be addicted to this style of content, past researchers have sought to investigate potential effects from that obsession with short form videos. It's still an ongoing research topic these days. Today we see that every major company has become more focused on short form video content. People check their phones multiple times each day to binge on content from their favorite entertainers and of strangers just the same. This is one psychological phenomenon that researchers will continue to investigate because it doesn't seem like the cultural obsession is going to weaken anytime soon.
