I like the concept of torrenting Hive blocks. But would that actually work since there are so many being produced?
Being able to not show all the auto downvotes and mind control spam would be great.

Doesn't PeakD.com ignore most paid?  
On their Explore menu, they have #all, but that doesn't seem to be sorted by the most highly paid or the most votes, and then underneath that in the Explore menu they have Most Viewed Posts which I believe uses their own viewed stats rather than payouts.

In regards to lacking direction... I thought that was also one of the benefits... everything gets build out in all directions and the ones that find success will remain.  Yes that does lack direction, but it also means everyone tries everything all the time...

It's super dumb but it's also what hive is really. It's been built that proof of brain which in this case is always a big lack of brain and more about curation trails and laziness now gets pushed to the top. The same peoples content gets pushed even if it's pure trash and like 200 words lol Personally I blame curation trails and then mega whales that have a ton of power and simply do nothing but vote the same few people and they don't curate. It's a huge issue but it's not one that will ever change without changing how hive works. Again it's why I think a fully decentralized system will never work. The only attempt I've seen so far is some basic search which I don't think many use and curation and pushing a few to the top help a little. But there for sure is a drastic missing part of algorithm and I guess that's because maybe it's hard with blockchain or simply no one knows how?

I’ve noticed them, kind of funny if you ask me. People will always find a way to be annoying lol would be cool to opt to not see down votes on front ends. PeakD is usually pretty quick about doing things maybe they could git r dun!

The trolls have uncovered another exploit, definitely worth looking into. 

100% agree.

I have before ranted about not being able to bulk sell small shit coins.
Like it doesn't seem hard to make? 

Just let me choose which coins to sell and everything will be sold a market value.

Already suggested to @asgarth and @jarvie  of peakd.  I get that you make money from posts but sometimes there are better way to convince people of your ideas, and you have a lot of good ones.

I think peakd is working on muting some of these trolls although you have to be careful where you draw the line, downvotes can be frustrating more for smaller users but in cases where it is justified for the community to show disagreement they will be censored, a dilemma.

Yeah, nah there is. 
All frontends get their info from the _Hive api_.
All frontends use hivemind for _notifications_.

There are certain calls and the replies come in a certain format.

For example: To customize your client to show only votes below or above a threshold would require some extra querrying and depending on what you'd try to achieve, at the least it would make your client slow.

When people click through to a Hive blog from Google and see the 5 broken hearts on the post, they don't get that it's a zero HP troll.

All they think is broken hearts, oh the post must be a scam.

Front-ends just need to aggregate both up and downvotes into a single number.

I have been seen this on some post, is it a spam? And should it be reported? 

All these damn xaccounts are driving me nuts. It's a mild annoyance but damn. Like can't we do something to prevent that kind of spam?

To a small degree, there already is. I never get a notification for an upvote that’s less than 2¢ but if I really want to see them, they’re in the “and X more” list. At least that's the case on peakd.com, I rarely use hive.blog

Lol... the $0 downvote is annoying.  The person that created those accounts deserve some accolades.  What a way to be known without doing much! 

Customisation would be really cool. I wish a front end can make that happen.  

Just suggest it to @peakd, they are usually very responsive!

You make a good point. I've been ignoring these because they don't affect rewards and don't really bother me but the visual evidence that someone downvoted a post can be misleading, especially for those who are not used to the Hive ecosystem.
