Dugouts in Vyazovoye. Part 2

There are pros and cons to photographing dugouts in the snow. Snow highlights the cellars well, they become more contrasting on a light background. Also, the snow cover covers all vegetation, which also has a good effect on highlighting the structure. I always try to make the plot as graphic as possible, and it would seem that the graphics are as poor as possible in winter. But the surface of the snow is often textured, and the all-encompassing foliage preserves the graphics from the end of autumn.

And now about the cons. The depth of the snow is my worst enemy.

If I was already experiencing difficulties with relatively shallow snow, then, remembering last winter, I would have refused to take photos at all for the entire snow season.

There are places where there are trails, there are roads...but there are also those where you have to walk several hundred meters to the dugouts.

Now about the disadvantages of the summer season. The main one is grass.

Vegetation covers a lot of it, and sometimes even more than deep snow.

If last winter showed that there are such snowdrifts that you have to literally crawl, then summer showed that the damp tall grass can even get your underpants wet.

I will also remember Vyazovoye because my new camera was baptized here, that is, shooting at night from a tripod in a fine drizzle of icy rain.

Now the night dugouts will be clearer, always in focus, lower noise and with an even wider dynamic range.

The Canon R6 mark 2 with the RF 24-105 lens is simply excellent at focusing in the dark!

The only drawback is that the lens hood is too small. Snow or rain often gets on the lens.
