Splinterlands saw a new all-time high of players yesterday and are also running out of BETA packs quickly. 

And all this, in the biggest bear market, Steem has ever seen. It just shows why it makes sense to build great applications on a social-economic blockchain like Steem.

### Displayed payout is not the same as actual payout

I saw some question about this.

The displayed payout of a post doesn't match the actual payout.

The reason this is happening is that the price feed currently is stuck on $0,21 cents. This is what most front-ends use to display the payouts on posts.

*The reason it's stuck on $0,21 is that the failsafe has kicked in where an SBD can not be converted for $1 worth of STEEM. This is to prevent heavy inflation because of the low STEEM price*

The real price of STEEM is of course currently $0,16.

The price of STEEM is still $0,16. I bought some more this morning. I think ultimatly STEEM won't be the token that rewards content creators, it will become a utility token. 

It will become the...

1. Main trading pair vs SMT's.
2. and it will be needed for RC credits.

SMT's/SE tokens will reward content creators in the future.

I'm buying with confidence because I realize Steem is becoming too big to fail.

Good morning man

I've just finished my daily quest and am set for 60 reward cards later today :)

My guess a few months ago on the Beta cards being sold out was tomorrow - a bit bold but it could still happen based on what happened with the Alpha packs.

Trending seems to be a mix of organic and bots and I think it looks much better.  I have seen people saying it doesn't though, and that most of the posts are Steem related.  Personally, I'm OK with this - we've just had a big fork and people want to talk about it.

Interesting point that the posts Trending could be related to the work the accounts behind them have done for Steem - or are about to do for Steem, like publicising them at a conference.

Good to hear you didn't feel the pressure to post last night, I've seen some of the larger accounts back curating and this can only be a good thing.

DEC is an interesting token - so many use cases and sinks :)  I don't earn that much each season any more but am holding a stash just in case.

Much of my manual curation is done in the tribes now but i think when i start work i'll need to set up a bit more automation.

It's definitely the biggest bear market ever and in my opinion it might even take longer for us to see bull really, I think Steem is gradually developing while the bear market is on and I'm definitely happy for splinterland really reaching that all-time high amounts of players! + Payouts. I think there are so many anomalies that comes with steem price currently and I hope this inflation can be corrected with time

Thanks for the explanation about the failsafe kicking in. That makes sense. 

There has always been a difference in the price of steem on the internal market compared to outside markets but this failsafe is something I had no memory of.

Good to see the trending page looking so much better and so fast too.

I agree that Steem is going to be the main trading pair for all smt's etc but I also think that steem could displace bitcoin dominance.

Think about the problems people faced in the last bull run.

To do any tx on bitcoin cost a fortune in fees and it was slow as hell taking days to complete a trade! 

By which time the price could have shifted massively.

Steem is the answer to all those problems. I see a very bright future.

The new 50/50 is great for curation as you know and it takes the pressure off of 'having' to post so much.

I have no idea. But it confirms that there are more options hidden within the code of the latest hardfork.

Steemmonsters is definitly going to be huge, the userbase is growing day by day and we it's still being developed with more features and cool stuff! I haven't leased out my deck because of low summoner levels, I'm trying to lvl them up a bit more so I can do the same thing you did, lease them out and split the DEC 50/50, or 60/40, still not sure.

STEEM is definitly not dead, I keep up with a lot of projects since STEEM isn't my only ivnestment, a lot of them are dead, really dead , from what I can see STEEM is def not a dead project, there are new users, new content creators, a lot of development, witnesses know a lot about blockchain, and this is obvious since they were able to push out 2 HF in a row, which is something that most blockchains can't do. Hopefully with the flag system we will get a better reward system very close to being perfect and we can focus on dapps, games, use-cases, cashflow and tribes.


About the new 50/50 reward system, just like you I'm starting to feel less pressure about posting and more pressure to curate, this is a good thing, it means that whenever I do post I can focus on quality over quantity, increasing the quality of content on STEEM will surely bring in more viewers and users to the blockchain.
