One week on "Hive" - Was it worth the fork?!

Tomorrow *Hive* will be 7 days old, despite the fact that the blockchain rolls back to the beginning of Steem 4 years ago. I did not post much, because i wanted to see how fast and how many services and people migrate here. AND i am actually quite impressed:

- Steempeak became *peakd*

- I can access my wallet and send funds right away

- **Blocktrades** AND **bittrex** accept *hive* for trade

- Penguin Pablo already set up statistics for this blockchain

- Roundabout 90% of my follows are positive towards *Hive*

- *3speak* offers login via *Hive accounts*


Whats missing:

- Migration of *esteem* mobile app

- Security of the brand (hive is quite a general and often used name)

**So HIVE, let's give it a shot!**

Welcome to the Hive.
There is much better interaction here.
I think mobile apps are coming soon.
Hive is a way better brand than Steem (which was super confusing with Steam and Steemit). It also represents the idea of community much better.
No sure what you are worried about re security - Felix and Andrew are common names too but neither of us worries about that.

Second @apshamilton. Not as a lawyer, but from personal experience. I once tried to have a generic English word registered as a company trademark; didn't fly. Hive IS a generic word in common and widespread use.

Edit: Any yoyo can send a cease-and-desist letter; doesn't mean a thing. PERHAPS worth checking with your lawyer, but nothing to get excited about.

Welcome to this big move and yes, some more things have to be done.

The brand stuff is an interesting issue. In our normal world, there is always someone who owns a brand and who has to take care for all the legal stuff.

#### How is this with HIVE as this is a community who "own" the brand
or is there any legal person in charge for this??

good question. talked about this issue with [techcoderx](https://hive.blog/hive/@felix.herrmann/re-techcoderx-q7njic) few days ago. 

*A hunt for domain was on and after an offer of 500 USD to the NIC of dot-IO-domains - they accepted for the premium "hive.io" domain and 1 day later I was the happy owner of hive.io*

[roelandp](https://hive.blog/hive/@roelandp/hello-hive-first-post-hive-becoming-of-the-brand) is the legal owner for one *hive* related domain. This target would be probably easier than going for the witness, that profit from the block creation.

I am still confused about everything. But it feels more at home here on Hive via Peakd. Some stuff is still missing over on Steem. I think eventually, both chains will co-exist and interact with each other. Maybe it was for the best to do the hardfork. I rather have Hive with low value but without censorship and centralized governance. I will probably use both chains to my advantage. Depends on what happens to Steem from now on.
