&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;BlockchainCon Latam 2023 nos llama a la acción. Y ésto último lleva implícito el desplazamiento a la ciudad sede del evento. Lima en la República del Perú es la locación y la cuarta gran capital latinoamericana en nuestra cuenta de viajes (antes habíamos estado en Bogotá, Ciudad de Panamá y Buenos Aires). Así las cosas, abordamos una aventura a lo desconocido. Y como todo viaje, el nuestro comenzó mucho antes de las imágenes que verán continuación y resumen poco las vicisitudes por las que hemos pasado en nuestro primer día @arlettemsalase y éste servidor.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Y digo que el viaje comenzó mucho antes, porque no tenía planificado nada de esto. Sólo tenía en mente renovar el visado estadounidense con miras a visitar nuestros hijos radicados en la unión americana. Y el primer paso era renovar nuestro pasaporte vencido. Así las cosas, el mismo día que fui a buscar el documento al SAIME (extranjería venezolana) recibí la llamada de Arlette para saber si yo disponía de pasaporte ¿Coincidencia o justicia divina? Vaya usted a saber, pero es un cuento que no me canso de repetir. Salí el Domingo por carretera a Caracas y el lunes me conseguiría a mi compañera en el aeropuerto. Nos pasó de todo. De verdad. Los buenos oficios de la agencia de viajes contratada para nuestra aventura, impidió que el día terminara en desastre. Lo demás fue suerte y correr, correr mucho, tanto en Maiquetía como en Tocumén, el aeropuerto panameño. Finalmente llegamos a destino..!

And the first step was to renew our expired passports. So, the same day I went to the SAIME (Venezuelan Immigration Office) to get the document, I received a call from Arlette to find out if I had a passport. The good offices of the travel agency hired for our trip prevented the day from ending in disaster. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;¿Qué decir de Lima? Uno de los grandes errores de nosotros los latinoamericanos, es desvalorizar lo nuestro en favor de lo externo. Al menos así lo veo yo. Como siempre, puedo estar equivocado. Lima me ha sorprendido gratamente. Ha sido el mismo shock que me llevé cuando conocí Buenos Aires. Las personas tienden a definir sus ciudades desde perspectivas locales muy limitadas. Y dado que leemos muchos pareceres, es lógico tener en mente una imagen formada por esas perspectivas. Cuando logras tú mismo confirmar o descartar esos pareceres in situ, concuerdas con tu visión cosmopolita de la humanidad. Lo diverso que somos. Lo diferente convergiendo hacia lo igual. Es difícil explicar. Mejor, admiren las imágenes a ver si ellas pueden hablar por nosotros.
    
> *What to say about Lima? One of the great mistakes we Latin Americans make is to devalue what is ours in favor of what is external. At least that's how I see it. As always, I could be wrong. Lima has pleasantly surprised me. It was the same shock I got when I visited Buenos Aires. People tend to define their cities from local or very limited perspectives. And since we read many opinions, it is logical to have in mind an image formed by those perspectives. When you manage to confirm or discard those opinions yourself in situ, you agree with your cosmopolitan vision of humanity. How diverse we are. The differences converge towards the same. It is difficult to explain. Rather, admire the images to see if they can speak for us.*

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Salimos a caminar en la mañana luego de desayunar en un buffet mañanero del hotel, el cual viene incluído en la tarifa de estadía. La zona donde nos encontramos se llama Miraflores. Es muy linda. Caminamos muchas calles al encuentro de unas tarjetas SIM para poseer conexión de datos. Entramos en varios negocios. Marcas extrañas. Otras conocidas. Las transnacionales gobiernan nuestras preferencias en muchas aristas de nuestras vidas, pero donde esa mano es visible increíblemente es en los productos de cuidado personal. Luego de maratonear por calles de la cercanía, alguien finalmente nos recomienda ir a la oficina central de alguna operadora, donde nos será más sencillo obtener la SIM dada nuestra condición de turistas.    

> *We went for a walk in the morning after breakfast at the hotel's morning buffet, which is included in the room rate. The area where we met is called Miraflores. It is very nice. We walked many streets to find some SIM cards for data connection. We entered several stores. Strange brands. Others known. Transnationals rule our preferences in many areas of our lives, but where that hand is incredibly visible is in personal care products. After marathoning through the nearby streets, someone finally recommended we go to the central office of some operator, where it will be easier for us to get the SIM card given our condition as tourists.*

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;La operadora CLARO fue la escogida, taxi hasta San Isidro, esperar nuestro turno un montón de tiempo, Comprar una SIM card se ha vuelto un problema en muchos países, dada las brechas de seguridad significativas cuando no se tiene registros de quienes compran tales líneas. Solo diré que nos echamos toda la mañana en hacer la vuelta. Luego nos enteramos que había una oficina más cercana, pero caímos por inocentes ante el pillo del taxi y ante nuestra falta de datos para certificar cual era la oficina más cercana desde el punto de caminata donde nos encontrábamos. 15 soles el traslado. 3,8 soles por dólar. Hagan las cuentas. Salimos directamente almorzar en un buffet de un gran supermercado de nombre Tottus frente a la oficina de la operadora. Económico y rico. Muy rico.

Surtido hasta decir basta y la variedad de productos aturde. La economía boyante del Perú se nota en los pisos de los establecimientos de éste tipo. Arlette compró varias cosillas y salimos en el taxi de regreso al hotel. 15 soles de nuevo. San Isidro queda apartado de Miraflores. Al menos así nos pareció. El tráfico en las calles de Lima es fuerte. Muchas obras de infraestructura agravan el problema de desplazamiento. Llegamos al hotel cerca de las tres de la tarde. Cansados. Caminamos mucho e igual tuvimos que pagar taxi para conseguir nuestro objetivo. Tenemos conexión de datos y podemos transmitir las incidencias de nuestro periplo.

Peru's buoyant economy is evident on the floors of this type of establishment. Arlette bought several little things and we left in the cab back to the hotel. 15 soles again. We arrived at the hotel around three in the afternoon. Tired. We walked a lot and still had to pay for a cab to reach our goal. Llamada por Whatsapp, cámara para vernos el rostro, buena señal, intercambio de pareceres. Luego, seguir checando redes hasta que se hizo el momento de participar en un Space de Twitter moderado por @audiarmisg y donde fueron invitados @andinodao, @enrique89, @arlettemsalase, @circogatto y éste servidor para hablar sobre el origen del encuentro y como Diego modeló la idea del evento en donde #Hive es Silver sponsor. Cada uno de los invitados hablamos sobre nuestra trayectoria en el mundo #Crypto y nuestras expectativas del movimiento Web3 en latinoamérica.

Muy rica comida en un restaurante situado a menos de 50 metros de la puerta principal del hotel Santa Cruz, donde estamos hospedados en Miraflores: Mattoni el nombre. El hijo de la señora, primo de Arlette, estaba de cumpleaños y los celebraba en el Saria Sky Bar, ubicado en la terraza del hotel Costa del Sol, de la cadena Wyndham en la Av. General Salaverry. Allá fuimos a parar en la noche limeña.

> *After the Space, we went to have dinner with Arlette's aunt whom I had not seen for 4 years. Very nice food in a restaurant located less than 50 meters from the front door of the hotel Santa Cruz, where we are staying in Miraflores: Mattoni the name. The lady's son, Arlette's cousin, was celebrating his birthday at the Saria Sky Bar, located on the terrace of the Costa del Sol hotel, of the Wyndham chain on General Salaverry Avenue. Honestamente, ver Lima desde esa terraza fue una experiencia surreal. Estar en esa terraza contigo, mi familia y los amigos de ellos fue lo que me hizo caer en cuenta de que lo habíamos logrado, estábamos en Lima para representar a nuestra hermosa cadena.

Buenas noches @fermionico, te veo super feliz y eso me alegra muchísimo.

Con respecto a la primer parte, no creo que existan las casualidades sino las causalidades. Lo que ocurre es que muchas veces uno no se da cuenta el porque pasan las cosas hasta después de un tiempo.

A pesar de que corrieron llegaron a destino y bien, punto muy positivo.

Me encantaron las fotografías, sobre todo las del hotel y mas arriba la de una cafetería.

Con respecto a la SIM card del teléfono, si es complicado muchas veces. Me ha pasado aquí también, pero tal vez por desconocimiento y falta de guía.

Que bueno el tema de la cena, gente amena, agradable y el lugar a gusto.

Me alegra muchísimo que todo marche super bien. HIVE por muchos años y con un gran futuro, de eso estoy segura.
